I think its interesting that we now have a specific term AND law for one religion only.

When people denounce the catholic religion and church,...no such specific term or law,...other than one that already has existed, that references "religions".

Religion is a choice. People should have the right to follow their faiths without being harassment or bylaws prohibiting them to do so.
But when they are consistently being targeted for events that they have no control of and even condemn, then there is a huge problem here. We have seen the Catholics being attacked on this board as well although not as often as the number of new threads that keep on popping up. Some of these threads are so random like the one about a woman being assaulted by 3 men of colour when being accompanied by her boyfriend who was also believed to be Asian. This happened across the pond on a side street. But when an even more horrific road rage event took place in Alberta perpertrated by a Caucasian man, the alt right on this board were furious about bringing up that event. One was believed to be a "Muslim" crime and the other was a "normal" crime.

Then, after similar hate crimes started targeting Muslims we had another one that specifically points out that hate crimes targeting Muslims are also hate crimes.

If a person in Canada lives within the boundaries of the law, and is faithful to his or her religion, what else do they have to do to be "more Canadian"? So if he is working does he deserve to be mocked by his colleagues for crimes committed halfway round the globe? You have never explained your rationality in this respect.
