Let’s hear it for the old school burger joints…the ones that look like they haven’t been renovated since the 1970s. A dying breed.

Jumbo Burger on Runnymede.

Golden Star on Yonge.

Apache Burger was better back in the day.

Anyone remember Arnold’s Drive-In on Lakeshore just before Mississauga? It’s been a good 20 yrs. Condo now.

Fuck the Clown and the King. The redhead with pigtails is alright.
Gone but not forgotten, The best secret sauce...

I think they were originally in Peterborough and expanded to the Ottawa/Hull area.
Used to go the one on Richmond rd. All the time....memories!!!!

I guess they should call it the "Rudeburger" then.....
Lol, last year April 2021, I rode my bike , decided to try Johnny, I lost my mask during my bike ride. I ordered my burger, one of the employees that working at the garnish area told where my mask, I said I lost it during my bike ride,I asked him do you have masks, he said no, that a lie, I saw the masks box at the back, he told me to go outside to wait for my order. The burger taste like garbage, cheap quality bread, the pattie not fresh at all, you taste it has a frozen taste. They called it homebuilder, it diffently not

Steak Queen is gone.

Their Homeburger with Back Bacon was second to none...the best kind of meat coma.

By comparison Burger Priest sucks, went there once, wont return.

This one is in Rexdale, Rex west of Martin Grove. The place became notorious, Rob Ford had his bumbo claat moment there.

MacDonald's was great back in the early 70's. Seemed like the big mac's were fresh off the grill. The fries were 10cents as was the coffee. Deal of the century. Then it all changed. Microwaved dried out over priced crap.
Burger King. Used to get the Wednesday Whopper for about $2.95 or whatever it was, but felt sick and guilty after.
I occasionally have a Whopper junior when I'm on the run.
My own burgers on the bbq with a whole wheat kaiser and sautéed onions and mustard rocks. Though I am not really a burger guy.

Now, since I gave up on life, I don't really give a shit, as shown below.

I hate them both. If it has to be a chain burger for me its either A&W or Harvey's.

Was Steak Queen in Rexdale where the cashier dude would exclaim, when you ordered “ juicy burger, crispy fries and JUICY Coke”?

Used to hit that spot, but not as much as Robby Ford (RIP the kinder Ford)

I used to go to that one. I remember the burgers were as big as a dinner plate. They would usually cut them in half.

The first whopper I had was back in the days when " You can have it your way " It was made when you ordered it and the meat was flame broiled. It was served hot. Today McDonalds and Burger King will serve you a cold burger. The bun does not even come out of a warmer.

I voted for Whopper but when it comes to shitty fast food burgers I’ll go to Wendys.

I have eaten burgers at Apache - Dundas west of Kipling - for about 50 years. I think it has been top quality the whole time.

I hate to say it, but it is the only place that can make a burger as good as my own.

Apache is a single location and the founders' vision of a tasty burger has survived. Chains do not do that. They have an accountant at the top trying to shave a single cent off each serving so their earnings per share go up.

Apache also has two large mosaics of Marlyn Monroe that I think are excellent. Most customers do not see them.

I worry that it will be turned into a condo construction site.

A great place to eat if you get hungry visiting Secrets' Etobicoke location.
