Fox understood long ago it`s much more profitable to say trash and false shit. Truth is boring as hell.
.............
In Canada, we have a government agency that oversees the news. It`s not perfect. But so far it made sure our news is not as trashy as in the US.
I don't disagree with you on Fox.
However, you would be remiss if you didn't acknowledge that CNN has been scorned for unprofessional journalism and commentary.
MSNBC could be under more scrutiny.

I am not as certain about the best structure for the news media as you. I don't like what I see in the U.K.
Perhaps Canada has more diverse voices than I can discern from here in the U.S.

Diverse voices is the key. Disagreement isn't necessarily unhealthy in a Democracy.

A great example of "Go woke, Go broke"...lmao...nobody buys woke news....News are suppose to just report news...not mouthpiece for the democrats.. very reason CNN and MSNBC are tanking...
I think the economics of news is more complicated than that.

but it's one of the driving factor...People got tired of being told what to do or not to do. CNN, MSNBC and ABC numbers were pretty bad...they're relentless attacks on Trump did nothing to beat him on the US 2024 presidential election....a very telling sign that the public isn't buying what they're selling.

Yet you seem to have no problem with Fox, which all it does is spin for Trump. Hell, they love to lie for him so much that it cost them three-quarters of a billion dollars. That's insane.

Gutfield takes way too much space on Fox. Maga morons think he's a journalist. He's a comedian and a show host above all. His political comments are complete bs and absolutely only geared towards viewership, absolutely not towards reporting facts or proper journalism. He's a poseur and a good one. But he will finish like Tucker... Which is a pity.

You have to add up the numbers of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, former CBS, PBS to get a better picture of the interest in left-leaning television news.
Granted CNN and MSNBC are the most liberal and have limited audiences. You probably only need one to survive for a sustainable "progressive" voice.

Whether we're talking about WaPo, CNN or even Stephen Colbert, it's absurd to pay media people excessive amounts far beyond their ability to deliver an audience. The television networks are starting to apply simple economics to everything they broadcast.

The Democrats were in disarray in 2024. As expected, CNN and MSNBC were doubling down on that bad hand.

If you hypothetically ran a Gavin Newsom (or Whitmer or Shapiro etc.) who is polished and relatively articulate, the networks could have made a much better presentation.

They do report the news.
You just call news you don't like woke.
Its part of the tiny worldview of the extremists like ace. They believe everything trump says is true so therefore all media is fake news and should be destroyed.
Ace g is part of a crowd that just sees all stories they don't like as 'fake news' that should be stopped.

This is the message they believe after the trump/Obama clip.

Why would you think people believe Gutfeld is a journalist?

There's nothing about his demeanor and delivery that suggests that he is a journalist.
We can say Gutfeld is a humorist and commentator. We have been trying for some time to tell you all commentators aren't journalists.

Would you rather have Stephen Colbert deliver political commentary on a comedy/talk show?
Is that a better venue than a cable news network?

That's also a big factor...Rachel Maddow for instance is getting paid a hefty amount while they got rid of Joy Reid...as their numbers are dwindling...it's not sustainable to pay both with one agenda.

I guess that explains a lot about you and your shallow understanding of politics and the world.
You could share your Mother Jones login with rich.

And Mr. Besos got woke fatigue....
Ehhh, I think Bezos thought it would be a worthwhile endeavor to try to save a legacy institution like the Washington Post.
The mounting losses just became ridiculous.

I don't share the view that a rich man should subsidize the Washington Post.
I can think of hundreds more deserving institutions that do good works.

I would have liked to bang Gretchen Whitmer in her day. I probably would still. I love her smile. ;)

She's apparently very popular in purple state Michigan. Which means the Democrats won't vote for her in the 2028 primaries.
