Winston: Lindy's is still where it always was, on the east side of Yonge just north of Gerard... or, at least it was when I last passed by about 2 months ago.

I think you will find that the sign is still there but the place is closed.

My back yard BBQ.

Other than that:

#1 Barberians
#2 Tom Jones
#3 Ruth's Chris

Morton's sucked the 2 times I was there. Nothing like their places in Chicago & SF!

Didnt read the entire thread but for value for the money I think Bardis is the best bang for the buck. If money is not an issue than Harbour 60 is my top choice. I've had the best and worst experience at House of Chan ... dont know why they bother asking you how you want your steak done as they cook it the way they feel like. However, when cooked right HofC is awesome.

This is a great thread! Got to say I have been to a few of the fav's downtown over the years but I got to say if you wanted a good meal at a decent price Lindy's now gone was great. I always wonder how much extra am I paying for a dude in a tux to serve the table??? There used to be a place on I think Adelaide just east of University that was that had a big time rep and all the politicos went there....in fact more rep than good food which for a number of these places is what keeps them in business. A good meal for a reasonable price and diesel fumes go to MasterSteak on dixie north of the 401,hungry truckers can't be wrong!

Ruth's Chris USDA Prime Filet is to die for. Cut tall, cooked medium rare....mmmmmmmmm.

The lean tenderloin cut is especialy well suited to their 1800 degree cooking process.

I've been there with others who have had the ribeye steak.

"I'll have the 16 ounce ribeye, double butter, a coumadin IV drip, wide open, ringers lactate, oh a aslice of the pecan pie and 20 cc's insulin for dessert!"
I agree totally!

Yeah, it's on Bloor. A lot of people get Bloor and DUndas mixed up there due to the whole Six Points thing.

Black Angus gets my vote.

I had the 16oz Bone-in Filet
Isn't that an oxymoron? I thought by definition that a filet has no bone.

Black Angus on Bloor West - my steak there beat what I had at both Harbour 60 and Morton's, and the prices are better also.

If I don't cook them, then it is either Barberians or Mortons.
