The success of Ray Donovan has rekindled interest in Goon.

The film is brilliant but it fell behind the 8 Ball after Liev Schreiber's trainer (Wade Belak) committed suicide. The backlash caused mass avoidance in Canadian theaters and the film bombed.

Now a sequel is in the works, I don't necessarily agree with it but...

This is going on a different theme than the thread, but I enjoyed Dodgeball and talledega nights.

I grew up with "Mr Baseball", "Major League" and "Remember The Titans".

When it comes to recent sports films, I thought "Draft Day" was excellent.

Basketball: Inside moves.

Baseball: Bull Durham
I would agree with both those choices. Inside Moves is not a well-known movie, it deserved a better box office and critical reaction. Two under-rated actors, John Savage and David Morse and Harold Russell's first appearance on film since The Best Years of Our Lives.
As far as boxing goes, Raging Bull is not only the best boxing movie ever, I sometimes feel it is the best movie I have ever seen. I don't know if I would call it my favourite movie, because it is so downbeat, but in technical terms, from Scorcese's direction, the editing by Thelma Schoonmaker, and the production design of Michael Chapman, it is unsurpassed.

For me - in the order they come to mind:
Longest Yard (Original), Field of Dreams, Slap Shot, The Replacements, The Natural, 42, Any Given Sunday, The Draft
I enjoyed the football game in Mash the movie but it was not subject of the movie.

Did anybody mention Rocky? Kinda corny in hindsight but definitely a classic.

Really liked "Coach Carter" (basketball) and "On Any Given Sunday" (football). Is it worth it to mention "Caddyshack?"
