Ludacris raps about whores, money, drugs. The same thing 99% that all other rappers rap about. Listen to a Common, Mos Def, Kanye West, etc. They are so much more versatile than Ludacris.
PS You could have at least picked a good Ludacris verse to post.
So what if he raps about those things. The reference to Ludacris' lyrics being a masterpiece is tongue in cheek. However I really don't listen to rap to become educated of spiritualism or social issues. It's not the words, but how they sound when they are sung. For instance one of my favourite songs is Paul Revere by the Beasties, who by the way were fantastic back in Nov., is not litterary genius, but it sounds fantastic the way they sing it when combined with a certain rhythm. Public enemy is another good example. Although most of their stuff is a social commentary, there best and early stuff did not offer much in the way of enlightenment. Uzi weighs a Tonne, You're Gonna Get Yours(98 Oldsmobile), Cold Lampin' With Flavor. Or would you prefer My Adidas by Run Dmc. Or do you find wisdom in the song which imo started Hip Hop, Rappers Delight by sugarhill gang.
My Point is that Unless the music, rythm, and vocals sound great, who cares what the hell there rapping about. And Ludacris may not have the greatest lyrics, as per songs like Move Bitch, Act a Fool or Splash(Waterfall), they have a fresh sound thats great.
I prefer whores and escalades than hearing about someones hardship case. I'll listen to Joni Mitchell and Neil Young for that.
