Best places to stay in Toronto, for $200-250 range entertainment?

Hi Folks,

Would any locals, hobbiests, or SP's have suggestions on good mid-range places to stay at in Toronto that offer easy access for the SP in a decent setting?

I'd rather spend my $ on donations rather than expensive hotels, so I'm wondering about places that would be suitable for SP's where donations are in the $200-250 range. I'm not planning on trying a high-end SP who requires a 5 star place any time soon.

However, I have stayed in one hotel where in order to get to the elevators you had to walk right in front of the front desk -- not something I would think an SP would appreciate.

I've also heard of other hotels where you have to have a room key (or buzz the front desk) to get in after hours -- also sounds like bad news to me.

Thanks all in advance

depending on how a lady conducts herself, as well as minding how she dresses...I don't understand why walking in front of front desk would be a diversion for any SP.
It will be a major diversion for her if they stop her at the front desk as she's walking by and start interrogating her.

Interesting theory. I don't know why hotel management would care one way or another. Unless the hotel has a "no guest" policy, all the lady has to say is that she is visiting so-and-so in Rm such-and-such. What are they going to do, check her hand bag for condoms? Sheesh! Now running an incall operation is an entirely different situation, but that is not what we are dealing with here.
So what do the ladies say about this situation? What makes you uncomfortable?

Questor, Thanks -- that's exactly what I'm wondering. What do the ladies prefer in a mid-level hotel. Any favorites? Anything else we should keep in mind (as it pertains to the hotel) when preparing for a fun night in toronto?

I've never had a problem passing front desks, though the bigger hotels tend to have several entrances. The Sheraton is probibly the hotel I frequent the most as an SP

Avoid Best Western Primrose

I recently went to the Best Western Primrose, and had an awkward experience. I arranged for a rendevous with an SP, but the hotel security wouldn't let her up to my room without my intervention. She arrived around 12:30, but in order to be allowed up, I had to call down to the hotel reception to tell her to let her through.

I was peeved, but understand the hotel's attempts at providing security for it's guests. Regardless, if you are planning a late night rendevous, don't stay at the best western.

I've stayed at the Courtyard Downtown twice and the Airport Marriott once, and have never had a problem. But I also typically do not set up an appointment after 12:00 am. I have typically paid between US$30 and 35 per night at these hotels on priceline.

Cambridge Suites has never been a problem for me, infact, I have had SP's in the hot tub upstairs and no one has ever said a word.

With the price range you are looking at you should not have a problem. I spent an hour at the Harbour Castle recently with an SP. She booked the room, so I'm not sure of the price, but I think it was less than $200 per night.
