With no kids: Yonge and King (middle of everything)
With kids: The close country (far enough away to be near totally safe, but close enough to be downtown within an hour)

Again, as with so many things in life it depends upon your tastes and what is important to you. I know people that swear that south Etobicoke is the place to be, others like The Kingsway. One SP I know lives in Mississauga and claims that she would never live in a condo in downtown Toronto. A friend of mine lives in a 900 square foot condo downtown and she adores it. A buddy of mine was transfered to Mississauga and took the opportunity to buy a 120 acre farm within commuting distance, he loves it and his wife tolerates it very well.

after all is said and done the country is the place to live, fresh air a dog no noise and a breeze and no neighbours to bother you.

Bloor West Village is pretty nice. Nice houses, close to the city core, but has a nice village-y feel. I love visiting my friends out there, especially on a Saturday afternoon in the summer.

Depends what your jobs, services, entertainment and recreations are. I now work from home most days, so anywhere is good for me, and I am an outdoors person so the country suits me well.

That's why I live there.

I also like Little Italy, the Annex, Riverdale, Cabbagetown, even parts of Etobicoke.

Palmerston Blvd. would be my dream street....

The Annex! Room for a back yard close to every thing and older houses that look beautiful.
Indeed, close to everything:
Bars/pubs, restaurants (lots of sushi if you're into that), bookstores, TTC, and a hop skip and a jump to other great areas like College St. or the club district.

Those beautiful Victorian homes on one way streets also offer a more peaceful setting to live.

Go to the Beaches. Fun pubs and bars, cool shops and cafes and restaurants, trails, waterfront and the open sky, big houses with yards, small houses with yards, and a quick tram ride to downtown.
