I would say that I love sports. Why would I only have one to choose from?

IMHO, there are certain sports that I like more than others but there are many variables when seeing a live sporting event.

I like watching hockey because it is very fast, skill level on ice, the hitting, etc.

I like watching a baseball game when there is a great pitching matchup, hitting. fielding plays, etc.

I like basketball when great players are playing one another (i.e. LBJ vs. Kobe).

I like football because of the many plays that can be run and guessing what the other team is going to do.
Good analysis Lawyerman. There are certainly many reasons to watch all these sports and you have outlined some of the top reasons here.

Actually NBA is quite popular among people in Toronto more specifically the younger generations as Rockslinger mentioned...clearly you don't have much idea about the excitement that BC has brought to the RAPs.
I agree but the one thing Ive always wondered about is why the NBA TV ratings are so poor in Canada when the sport has apparently gained popularity over the last decade. Its really something that I have no answer for.

Thanks my friend. It was a brief description on why I like the main sports in North America.

The reason could be any number of things but one of them would probably be that some people would watch NBA TV for free (TSN) but when it is on Raptors TV or some other premium channel, the ratings dip significantly.

Thats a good point. I am just disappointed that Sportsnet dropped basketball because Sportsnet did a much better job of covering it than TSN, even though TSN is covering more games this year than they have in the past. I vaguely recall hearing that Sportsnet had dropped basketball because it wasnt really getting them the ratings to make it a viable product worth having on their station. I could be wrong but I think I remember hearing that somewhere, might have been jack armstrong on the fan590 that said that last summer. I wonder also if basketball has grown in Ontario, particularly southern Ontario but maybe not so much in the rest of Canada. Like perhaps the growth of the sport is more isolated to Toronto and surrounding area as opposed to places like say Alberta or Nova Scotia. I have no evidence for this though, just mere speculation.

That's right DD1. We have voiced our displeasure in Rogers not bringing TSN2 into our homes.
