I see Mr. Greenjeans in the Eaton Centre has closed after 34 years. They were okay, used to be really good at their previous location on Lombard by the old Second City.

Everyone is doing bacon on burgers now, but they take it to a whole new level. They do pig right!

btw, if you like truffle parm fries, you should check out TOCA at the Ritz. They can do it good. (Can because I've been there three times. Twice it was awesome, once it was soggy and greasy)

Room 112
Grillway (Annette & Runnymede)

The MOST underrated burger in the city.
Eaten there many times. Great food. I agree one of the best burgers in the city. 6-8 oz of tasty beef, no filler.

I'd also recommend their pizza, souvlaki, poutine, greek salad and in my opinion the best toasted western in the city. Many of Metro's finest hit up this joint too.

The lamb burger at Holy Chuck is on my roll call of deliciousness, it's served with a slice of provolone and mango chutney. They go together well.

I had a chili dog at Holsten's....if the name doesn't ring a bell...

Recently came across this restaurant in Mississauga via Toronto Star

http://www.thestar.com/life/food_wi...ger_draws_from_pakistan_and_south_africa.html

The place is MESH Peri Peri Grill in Heartland and checked it out. My buddy tried the beef burger which was 8oz and had a real kick to it; I tried the chicken and it was pretty damm good...all grilled so felt good feeding it to my body #noguilt lol. Also the price point was really good at $8.50 meal

I would definitely recommend ppl to try the place; it's Portuguese style cooking with South African peri sauces. They also have 16oz steak and ribs...def worth a drive imo.

Baldwin street burger, in Brooklin. That's north Whitby to those people who don't live in Durham. Nice and fresh, somewhat gourmet but not over the top. And a cute little joint too

Reviving an old thread, thought there was more recent content in a best burger thread, but couldn’t find it. Anyhoo, there’s a new place opened near me called Gladiator Burger at Kennedy and Progress. It’s part of a chain with locations in 905. Had a burger there the other day and it was very good. 6 oz. patty, and the beefy taste was prevalent despite all the toppings. A few days later tried their other specialty, a steak sandwich in the Philly cheese steak style. It was really good, but sloppy to eat, luckily was provided with a fork to scoop up the spillage. I will be back, probably too many times for my waistline. P.S., some cute young ladies working there.

Good call, took your advice tonight and will be returning. The location that you mentioned should do very very well there.

Some new places that opened in the past couple of years on the east side for those who would like to try something new:
Slayerburger--O'Connor Ave between Victoria Park Ave. and St Clair Ave.
Bullger--Ellesmere Ave. and Pharmacy Ave.
The Burger Alley--Lebovic Dr. near Eglinton Ave E. and Warden Ave.
Andy's Artisans Burgers--Eglington Ave E and Warden Ave----this used to be one of the last Lick's burgers. Same menu, same management.

Burger joints have the potential to do well under the lockdowns as take out and delivery were strong and many people cannot or do not want to cook.
Burger Priest is still my favourite.
