Vic Park and Lawrence ... that was(is ?) Mediterranean something or other.
The wife and I, 15 years ago that was one of the first places we went as a couple.
15 years ago it was Steak Queen. It's been a mediterranean places for only a few years now.

I'm pretty sure there was also a Fire Pit in Mississauga at Dundas/Hurontario (just west of that intersection). Adding the one you mentioned (never knew it was there) and the really old one at Dixie/Dundas 20 years ago, who knew it was an actual small scale chain! I wonder if there were more.
For those of you older folk with a really good memory there used to be a Fire Pit on Victoria Park Ave. just south of Eglinton Ave. The burgers were delicious and juicy, never dry. It went out of business about 20 years ago(if not more) and the lot still sits empty.

Wow. Never knew that either. And to think a long time ago,m I thought there was only one Fire Pit (Dixie/Dundas). So far, I think the tally is:

A place I've discovered in the Kensington area called Burgernator, it's pretty good.. They grind the beef right in front of you!

I went once when it was Steak Queen, when I took the wife I told her it used to have a different name but I could not remember the name. Steak Queen.

The last time I tried their BIG MAC, it resembled a thinly sliced piece of cheese. WTF
I will never buy a burger at McD's.

I would recommend Hero's or Wimpy's burgers.
Wimpy's burgers are a cut above the best. Like a sirloin steak on a bun.

Relax Mr Excitement, like I said it has it's place, and I was not recommending McD's ... that said they did not become the world's largest restaurant chain because they absolutely suck.
Now Wimpy's is just OK in my opinion, I much prefer the places that make their own burgers on the premises.





I've officially cut Burgers Priest out of the list. Their Maple location, grossest burger ever! Holy Chuck, equally gross.

However....Stupidburger is my new go-to!
Wow, I am just about to crown Burger's Priest the best and drop Hero to good.

The Pub Burger at Tilted Kilt is damn good, but my opinion may be coloured by the juicy tits and ass all over the damn place there.....

Wimpy's? Those burgers look gross. I'm weary of any preshaped burger, likely frozen. I want a fresh ground ball of grass fed burger meat (preferably brisket) with no fillers pressed on a flat top grill with nothing more than salt. Toppings as desired.

For those of you who like a Stockyards/Burger's Priest style burger, check out The Rude Boy on Roncesvalles. Tatsy burgers, I had the Sting and it was really good. Try their their Monday $5.00 burger special.

You're chances of getting e-coli from high quality fresh ground burger is about the same as from a rare/medium rare steak. There's a huge difference between supermarket ground beef and frozen burgers and a single cut of meet ground fresh.

Agreed about Burger Priest, great fabulous luscious, delicious burger....at the original location, however it is difficult for such a place to maintain the same level of quality control at their other branches. Sometimes disappointing gruesome fair can be had at their newer locations unfortunately, not their fault as one would need McDonalds budget and quality control team to maintain the universal standard. As an aside, everyone's opinion on burgers doesn't address our vast differences on what toppings we enjoy, which is another variable. Those who like few toppings can really taste the difference between burgers. For those who put the works on every burger, the story might be same shit, different burger.

Don't know these places as I am not in TO...but Burger's Priest and the last image with a 20oz Wimpys burger seems to imply people (North Americans) associate best by biggest - most of the offerings at the Burger's priest look disgusting - complete and utter gluttony...no idea on how they taste, but I would think a well constructed single patty with unique spices, bread, fixings would be more enjoyable.

Personally I have recently been enjoying onion burgers stuffed with feta..homemade with a freshly made bun that is toasted. Simple fixings - some boston lettuce, tomato and even some sliced olives (greek influence).

For sure I agree it does not look appatizing at burgers priest. When you look at the beef patties b4 being palced in your bun they look burned or brownish on top. It looks dry and it tastes nothing like it looks. The finishing is part of the process since they do something special and unique to them in addition to standard grilling. I had the high priest and it was delicious. Their fries and chilly sucks big time but burgers are great for sure. I am also very picky but these guys deliver at least at the Queensway location. Also their prices are expensive. I would definitely go back and see if they maintain consistency.
