I have to agree that the Cellar burgers are dry.

The Stack has great poutine (smoked meat in the gravy) and decent pulled pork. Was less than thrilled by their smoked meat sandwich.

Do you live in the area? Burger and Menchies on a summer evening? LOL
Burger and Yogurtys on a summer evening. Absolutely yum. I don't find the cellar burgers dry at all! Maybe because I prefer my burger medium? Who knows...the priest really does have the better burger but I like all the yuppie options ( ;) at shack ). I really can't say enough about the duck poutine at the cellar..... It's sex in a bowl. Really.

Last weekend I went to Johnny Rockets at Yonge-Dundas Square and it was the best burger I have had in ages.

The price was a bit disappointing butI will check it out again soon.

Big Smoke Burger joint on west side of Yonge just a bit north of Jarvis. Also the Gourmet Burger Company on Kipling just south of the subway.

Apache burgers in Etobicoke, amazing!
Not even close to what they were in the 70s and 80s. Now the burger patties are paper thin and served on enormous kaiser buns. Where's the beef? :mad: They still have amazing onion rings though.

I have Woody's on my TDL. Anyone tried their mbile kitchen to cater an event?

In the meantime, W Burger Bar (best scenery), Magoo's and Burger's Priest are mighty fine.

:Eek::frusty: That place is absolutely awesome as you get A TONNE of food for not that much money. Also I am a big fan of BURGER BRATS http://www.burgerbrats.ca down on Adelaide, and their Hangover Burger is BIG and very very tasty.

Magoo's in Etobicoke has always been good to me..

Also The Grillway (at Runnymede & Annette).. Their burgers are fantastic! Nothing special about the bun or toppings.. And the service is awful at the best of times (think unorganized Soup Nazi).. But there's something in the beef they use that makes for a wildly tasty burger..
Magoo's is great. Owner when to my highschool. Apache's is another great joint in Etobicoke. Don't know the Grillway.

The Yellow Griffith Pub in the Bloor West Village reputedly has great burgers.

Also, GBC (Great Burger Co.) which has a few locations, one on Kipling north of the Queensway in Etobicoke.

Also, the Magic Spot on Bloor east of Royal York.

Ugh.. Magic Spot had it's hay day, but last i was there their time in the sun was clearly over (granted that was 2 or 3 years ago).

What about Red Cabin Burger (across from Apache's)? Did you ever go there (they're gone now). I've heard that their's was the place to go if you were a beef fan...

Another suggestion would be C & Dubbs in Mississauga if you like Apache's (to me it tastes identical but the restaurant is nicer).

Also Royal Meats BBQ on Kipling & North Queen.. Royal Meats the toppings are bland and the bun falls apart.. But the patty is ENORMOUS and FRESH...

The beauty of a place like the Burger's Priest is that they use fresh ground beef which means you can order it medium rare, which is how I like it. If a place won't cook them medium rare then they aren't using fresh ground from a whole cut of beef. With that said, I've been a few times and they have yet to cook my burger as ordered. The first time it was raw in the center and I mean raw. The next two times they were way overcooked, really well done in fact.
WRONG. Serving a burger medium rare (corresponds to an internal temperature of 63 deg) is illegal in Ontario.

The problem with ground beef is that contaminants (e.g. E.Coli) which may have been present on the surface of the meat (or on the cutting implements) are distributed throughout the meat, and must be killed by thorough cooking (minimum internal temperature of 71 deg C) in order to be safe. Some steaks are fine when cooked less, if the interior of the meat has never been exposed. But some steaks have been "pierced" for tenderness, and thus pose a danger if undercooked.

I tried Five Guys again, this time at a different location at York Mills and Don Mills. Every bite produced an orgasmic sensation in my mouth, it was intense. It's probably the next best thing besides sex.

Obviously when they grind it, the exterior and interior get all mixed together. Perhaps the places you like hit the minimum cooking temp, while others are going more conservative and dry it out more.

E-coli poisoning is not pretty.
