It seems that we owe the abundance of life on Earth to The Roman God of Death (Kronos in Greek). To the Romans Dec 25th was the Saturnale Festival, the rebirth of the Sun, with Dec 21 being the darkest day of the year.

there’s no pause. there’s no restart or do overs. matter is here and we have to continue, move forward.

why are you here? bc your parents ( a man and a woman) fucked and you were born. it can never be undone.

You got drunk and killed someone. It’s Forever.
One life ☝🏼 one chance.

Sadly I think of humans more akin to robots than anything spiritual 🌈 our decision making is based on zeros and ones. same as computer 🖥

I don’t think you understand. The fact we can’t put into words what god means to us, doesn’t mean we can’t understand what we believe, individually. I’m saying I’ll never be able to explain god to you.

but let me try…. god is like a river. each person is a drop of 💧 water. is god listening to me and controlling the world? no religious idiots. but in a 0.0000000000000000001 sort of way, yes each person is part of god & we sort of have free will to affect change. however it’s hard to affect change when you’re so small. do we have a soul? yes while we’re experiencing life, after that we dissolve. in the end god is the universe and the FOUR forces of nature, that are probably one force. space is what allows the one force energy fireball to cool, and take all its shapes. puff puff pass
How can evil exist in the absence of free will?

you say evil exists? how old are you?

if everyone gets to define what is evil thats pretty useless. unless there’s a ten commandments somewhere that has it written down 🤔
LOL. When you quote the bible or biblical principles you should understand it. My only point was that the religious of most faiths (and I do not count myself among them) believe in the existence of evil and evil was created when man/woman was given free choice. If choice is not free then that suggests that there exogenous forces at work and then that either limits or negatives the existence of G-d. Thats all.

You are saying that the universe behaves as if there is no god, but you are also saying that there must be a god for the sake of virtue signaling.

Four in 10 Say God Can Hear Prayers, Intervene

A follow-up question in the survey probed further into what Americans' belief in God entails. Specifically, the question asked whether God hears prayers and whether God intervenes when people pray.
About half of those who believe in God -- equal to 42% of all Americans -- say God hears prayers and can intervene on a person's behalf. Meanwhile, 28% of all Americans say God hears prayers but cannot intervene, while 11% think God does neither.
Nearly three-quarters of the most religious Americans, defined as those who attend religious services every week, say they believe God hears prayers and can intervene, as do slightly more than half of conservatives and Republicans, as well as 25% of liberals and 32% of Democrats.
Thirty percent of young adults believe God hears prayers and can intervene.

Pretty sad shit.

Hail Satan!
Every organized religion [ out of the many] thinks that they are the one that has things figured out correctly and that their God is the real one. While organized religion does do some good things it also has led to many of the wars, injustices and atrocities over time and that continues today.

On balance the closer that the % gets to zero that are in support of organized religion the better off the world will be. [ of course that includes women seeking abortions which should be their right.]

That's not good.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly do not believe in God myself. However, many religions have a stabilizing effect on society. Some people can intrinsically be moral and structured and motivated. But a huge swath of the population cannot. Religion served as a way to keep those people in check and to provide structure to society.

Frankly, it feels to me like Western society is breaking down, with radical ideologues fanning the flames of division. Modern living is raising broken people, more addicted to drugs, more prone to anxiety and depression, less capable and stalwart. You practically need a dual-income now to afford raising a family, which means less bonding time between parents and children, creating a generation of needy young adults. Our governments are more interested in image than fundamental structural issues in our society. I see only further breakdowns to come.

I'm not saying the entire thing can be blamed on people turning away from God. But God as a stabilizing force having less influence certainly contributes. While religion has certainly caused many horrors, abandoning it without an all-encompassing alternative is not a great idea.
