I doubt those are fireworks, I think they would go off in a different way and you would see rockets and flares going off all over the place. They said there was also a depot of benzene (highly inflammable) in the area.

It looked like a series of smaller explosions that led to a fire and caused deflagration. The colour of the initial explosive seems to be a clue.

No way was that just fireworks. This is the most likely explanation.
Either Israeli's blew it up because they saw it as a threat, or it was an accident
