Thinkin' 'bout the times you drove in my car.
Thinkin' that I might have drove you too far.
And I'm thinkin' 'bout the love that you laid on my table.
I told you not to wander 'round in the dark.
I told you 'bout the swans, that they live in the park.
Then I told you 'bout our kid: now he's married to Mabel.
Yes, I told you that the light goes up and down.
Don't you notice how the wheel goes 'round?
And you better pick yourself up from the ground
Before they bring the curtain down.
Yes, before they bring the curtain down.
Ah Ah Ah, yeh yeh yeh
Ah Ah Ah, yeh yeh yeh
Talkin' 'bout a girl that looks quite like you.
She didn't have the time to wait in the queue.
She cried away her life since she fell off the cradle.

Co-written by George Harrison. Guitar solo by George.
Line about the swans in the park by Ringo.
Great tune.

Its called "Badge" because, as George and Eric sat across a table from each other, with the song's lyrics between them, George, reading upside down, looked at the word "bridge" that Eric had written (where the bridge of the song would be located) and mis-read it. He asked Eric "Does that say Badge?" And the song was thus named.

Bizarre the trivia one remembers. I took a lot of heat in high school for being a Beatles fanatic when everyone else was into Rush and Zeppelin and VH (ok I was too, but the Beatles ruled).

Hey shack its one of those songs that is soo good, that its kinda impossible to trump,

BUT
isn,t Layla ,is right up there for pure passion and music?

Interested in what you guys think of this live version ,with Tim Renwick,on second guitar,Carl Radle on bass?
I prefer it to spammed out Royal Albert Hall Version.

I kinda look at it as once you reach a certain level it doesn't really matter which one is "better" since each one brings it's own pleasures. Clapton is still doing great stuff to this day. His last collaboration with J.J. Cale, "The Road to Escondido" is an excellent listen.
