spokesperson ? do you mean the one handing out $100 bills for a couple of hours of shouting slogans
And I suppose you have evidence of this, that it isn't part of some right-wing conspiracy narrative....

it looked more like a futile effort to actually find someone to intelligently communicate the cause
he asked a lot of people,
Really. And I suppose you'd argue that when they do this at a MAGA rally and show the stupidity of those folks, you'd say that they don't represent the cult, er...movement...Let me put it this way, you ask enough people in a crowd about anything and you might get a nuanced, well thought out response, but more likely you'd get folks who say really stupid things, like saying Obama dropped the ball in his handling of 9/11....

that is 100% pure speculation on your part
So, stop pretending that there is not something very strange about these protests
Yes, it is speculation. I'm glad you recognize it. I didn't think it was subtle, but with the righties on here, you never know. I'm sure you're trying to say that these protests are astroturfed. Maybe they are. Maybe people are attending them for multiple reasons. Some might hate Hamas, but feel for the Palestinian people. Others might just hate Israel. But, if some random dude who wasn't press started asking me questions....I might not want to answer. I'd call it the James O'Keefe response. They've probably seen clips that were used bad faith edits to makes soundbites that lack nuance, or are taken out of context to disparage the protests. I'm not saying main stream media doesn't do this, but there is significantly less chance that NBC would do that compared to some unknown dude with a YouTube channel.

For university students they aren't very bright. Makes you wonder how they got accepted.
That is a possibility, sure. Another and the most likely possibility is that a person may appear not very bright, when the people calling them not bright, are not very bright in the first place.

Listen to them speak and their demands. Not very bright at all.

Their demands are perfectly legitimate.
''Columbia Law students want their final exams called off … in the name of Palestine.

In a recent letter, the student editors of the Columbia Law Review made a public call for the school to cancel the semester’s remaining exams and “give all students passing grades for their work throughout the semester.”

Yeah seems pretty legitimate to me, lol.....

Firstly, that has nothing to do with the demands made by the protestors regarding divestment, transparency etc.,

Secondly, the ask is fair, in my opinion. You have total chaos on campus, people being arrested, beaten by police, racist hate groups from both sides attacking each other etc., It would be difficult for students to sit for tests at this time. Is cancelling exams the right course of action? I dont know. But the ask is fair enough. They are not asking for just the protestors, or just the pro-Palestinian supporters. They are asking for everyone in the university whether or not they are a protestor, due to the extraneous circumstances. Fair enough. Grades dont mean anything any way. 🤷‍♂️

If you don't like what the school is doing...Don't go there!

learning the curriculum and passing the exams is kind of what the idea is. There's no free ride in life. Time they learned that.

No, they can go there and demand the school change its policies. That is like saying the status quo should never be challenged. And in this case this letter was to not cancel all exams for eternity, but for this semester due to the chaos. Fair enough to ask. Especially when the days where grades actually mattered are long gone.

No no just leave...There will be more than enough students that will want to attend in their place.

Their demands are perfectly legitimate.
Actually they are comical.
They are students and have no say how the university runs their business. If they don't like it, go to another university.
Better yet go to the Middle East and help those Hamas terrorists out in their fight. They wouldn't last an hour.

well we know you are quite critical of MAGA rally's
for the most part those folks are not pleased with domestic issues that affect them directly

the blither youth are protesting about international problems that are driven by hated that has endured for a thousand years. problems that are infinitely more complex than the blither youth will ever understand
but they get to shout slogans and clap their hand with their friends

blithering idiots repeated gathering enmass to protest against a war on the other side of the planet that they do not understand ,? yeah something is strange here

Maybe they are. Maybe people are attending them for multiple reasons
.
one should have been able to articulate a legitimate reason -
did you take note of the girly who said she wanted to defund the police, but would call the police if needed
strange reason to be protesting Israel , , my guess is she show up at a protest against just about anything ,

"down with children, death to the middle class, put seniors on ice flows" clap clap, "down with children, death to the middle class, put seniors on ice flows" clap clap

Some might hate Hamas, but feel for the Palestinian people
.
hate Hamas, but protest against the Israel ?
that rings the bell on the stupid meter

Others might just hate Israel. Jews
bingo
A hatred that dates back a thousand years
the left is so hypocritical

too funny
these morons want to drive social change and they want their voices heard , but say 'no comment' when asked to state what they are protesting ?

That is what I was telling Oracle. You are saying the status quo should never be challenged. Not true. The status quo should always be challenged when there is a need to.
They did this to themselves, too.fucking.bad!
Did what to themselves? Nothing has really happened to them.
No no just leave...There will be more than enough students that will want to attend in their place.
Why should they leave? They can ask for what they want. Plus it was not even the students who asked for it. It was the editors of a college magazine.

It's not status quo, it's reality.
I would love to see these kids try and tell their employer, if they are lucky enough to have one, how to run their business. These kids won't last very long when they get to the real world. In for a big shock. I see nothing but future social assistance recipients.

Oh you know that little thing called vandalism and trespassing...It will be awesome when Columbia expels them.
Nothing worse than the Jan 6, insurrection that you supported. Its not like you actually care about vandalism or trespassing or public inconvenience . You seem to miraculously grow a conscience about these things only when these protests are about issues you dont agree with.

That routinely happens where companies are called out for their association with who ever that people find troublesome. The BDS movement targets companies. So yes, the students are right in challenging the status quo that their universities not support the genocidal state. What you see are very smart students who will be paying your social assistance benefits in a few years.
