It really is remarkable just how ignorant people are. I say this because I get the sense that at least half the questions in here are serious and not a joke. Truly remarkable.
That said, for the type of discussion it is, it is remarkably civilized.
I don't think it would keep me from burning the whole world for the evils perpetrated by the ignorance shown here, but it's giving me a few moments of pause...
Tres interesting...
I wonder how long this will go before the usual angry "You're a racist - NO YOU'RE A FUCKING IDIOT" argument breaks out?
Hmm....
I give it till the end of the day...
Cheers!
Why dont you expand your explanation on this further? I'd like to know what it is that you have against these questions, funny or not. How exactly are we ignorant? Lets see how smart your are. I saw your post earlier in the thread. So you're black and saying some of us are ignorant and racist? Wow! What a surprise never heard that one before
Backburner certainly did not need to do this, but in answering some of the serious questions it showed what kind of a person he is. Lets see yours.
I probably have nothing in common with BB but I'd certainly sit and have or even buy him a drink because I think he is a fair person who is honest about an issue that is still touchy to some in our society. Cant say that about everybody.
Everyone see another as another race at some point. My question was serious. Upon answering, I think BB is a man, not a black man, but a man first, who tries to see the world and people as an equal. And also can admit that not only blacks can see racism too but that goes for everyone. Cant say that about everyone.
I try to see everyone as equal too but unfortunately I agree with BB theres a lot of work to be done. And that starts with your own self, not others.
Everyone is/can be racist and have certain thoughts/opinions about different races.
Seriously, I can name you many incidents where blacks can be just as racist to others, including from my own personal experience, but how often do you hear others cry racism?
If I'm racist for saying this then feel free to say I am.
It is what it is, the truth is there. Whether or not you want to open your eyes and admit to it is up to you. But look at yourself first before you judge others is what I alwasy say.
To me its sad that in a multicultural city like Toronto, there is still plenty of racism to go around.
Sorry i had to rant a bit here, but he started it
