For quite some time I lived in a predominantly HK-Chinese neighbourhood and nearly 50% Asian high school, but at that time there was alot less mixing. There is no getting beyond that felling of being "shut-out", as though it so out of the question to even think it.
Of course nowadays there are plenty more legitimate reasons to feel insecure and inadequate. The beating just gets worse and worse...

I think to call it an "exotic bug" makes it trivial. Maybe to some people interracial is a game or a kink. But that's not always the case. To some people this is an integral aspect of their sexuality.PHNINE said:

Some people have a need to see the reflection of themselves in their partners. However I think it is more natural for people to be attracted to genetic diversity, or at least an appearence of diversity. In other words, someone with as little as possible in common with yourself, you sister, cousin, mother, ect..

Staying within the same culture also comes with it's own baggage and expectations. Some people are looking to get away from it.punter said:

I mean flip the tables, if you were some white dude that grew up in China your whole life, I am pretty sure you would feel more closer to Chinese women rather then some MTV watching teenie bopper white girl, or even a chinese girl that grew up in North America. But in any case, we are saying the same thing and I am not disagreeing with you at all, just adding to what you are saying.

Interesting thoughts but here's some encouraging info for the guy who wants to date asians and is white.
Go on lavalife and you'll be surprised how many asian women are looking for white guys some are more blunt than others. Some come out and say it and others say that they are looking for 6' and taller (which rules out many asian men outside of the chinese b-ball team).
