Tucker Carlson uses this very sad circumstances to start his usual nonsensical Conspiracy Theories with his hatred of actual Scientific Facts!!

Tucker Carlson calls medical experts ‘witch doctors’ as right-wing figures spread anti-vaccine misinformation after Damar Hamlin’s collapse

Fox News personality joins other right-wing influencers and conspiracy theorists who blame Buffalo Bills player’s injuries on Covid-19 vaccine

Moments after Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field after making a tackle on 2 January, Covid-19 conspiracy theorists and right-wing personalities baselessly blamed his injuries on vaccine side effects.

Anti-vaccine influencers and right-wing media figures have also shared debunked claims about athletes allegedly collapsing after their vaccinations.

Mr Hamlin remains in critical condition after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to a statement on 3 January from the Bills team. His heartbeat was restored “on the field and he was transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for further testing and treatment,” the statement said.

On his programme that night, Fox News personality Tucker Carlsonfalsely stated that Mr Hamlin endured a “heart attack” and said medical experts who dismissed Covid-19-related conspiracy theories are “lying” and “witch doctors”.

“What we don’t know could fill volumes,” he said. “We don’t know the answer and there is no way to know the answer.”

He continued: “Hamlin was lying on the field receiving CPR when self-described medical experts in the media, people with no demonstrated medical ethics at all, effectively witch doctors, decided to use his tragic life-threatening injuries [as] an opportunity to spread still more propaganda about the Covid shots. ‘It could not have been the shot,’ they told you. ‘Shut up.’ They’re lying. They don’t know anything more than we know, which is effectively nothing.”

Cardiologists have suggested that Mr Hamlin likely experience commotio cordis, in which an impact to the chest can cause cardiac arrest.

Mr Carlson, who has stated that he is not vaccinated against Covid-19, has repeatedly misrepresented vaccine efficacy and safety and amplified false claims about vaccines and the public health crisis on his highly watched and influential programme.

Several studies have pointed to an acute partisan divide associated with vaccines and Covid-19-related deaths, and one study identified Fox News as a key tool for reducing vaccine uptake in the US.

“[T]here is an association between areas with higher Fox News viewership and lower vaccinations,” according to the report from ETH Zurcih, which noted that “media emphasis on minority viewpoints against scientific consensus is linked to vaccination hesitancy.”

Baseless claims linking Mr Hamlin’s injury to Covid vaccinations also immediately appeared widely on other right-wing networks and across social media, including Twitter, where the platform’s new owner Elon Musk abandoned previous policies that prohibited the spread of Covid-related mis- and disinformation during the ongoing public health crisis.

“You’ve got to consider the vaccine issues in this regard,” far-right activist Steve Bannon said on his War Room programme on 3 January.
“This is brutal. And I know what everyone with any common sense is thinking. This isn’t the first time a pro athlete had this happen,” former Newsmax host Grant Stinchfield said on Twitter along with two syringe emoji and the words “NFL mandate.”
Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk called his collapse a “tragic and all too familiar sight right now: Athletes dropping suddenly.”
“Everybody knows what happened to Damar Hamlin because it’s happened to too many athletes around the world since COVID vaccination was required in sports,” wrote former Newsmax host Emerald Robinson.
“Another athlete who dropped suddenly,” wrote Drew Pinksy, the former host of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew.
As of 3 January, it was unclear what caused Mr Hamlin’s collapse, and it still has not yet been revealed whether he was even vaccinated. The NFL has preciously reported that roughly 95 per cent of its players are vaccinated.
Sudden cardiac arrest among young athletes has been a concern among medical researchers for several years, predating the pandemic, but there is no evidence suggesting that vaccines are driving such injuries.
“It just really fits in with the narrative that was already circulating that any collapse of a person may be vaccine related, no matter lack of evidence,” John Gregory, health editor of watchdoggroup NewsGuard, told The Washington Post.

We’ve all seen our share of young athletes collapsing this year. This is the first one of an American professional football player, however. And it happened on live television on Monday Night Football. Again, for those of you who don’t live here, the game was canceled and postponed, which is the first time I’ve ever seen that happen in professional sports in the US.

The young man was defibrillated on the field, resuscitated, and taken to the University medial center. There are reports he had to be defibrillated again in the hospital, and other reports saying those first reports were inaccurate. So, I don’t know the full story on that.

Strangely enough, right in the middle of writing this, MD got an alert on her phone that he had regained consciousness. And that his first question was, Who won the game? Here is the USA Today story on it I just pulled down.

Immediately after Hamlin collapsed, Twitter lit up with those saying it was a vaccine-induced issue and other saying it wasn’t.

The truth is, at this point no one knows. There are very few issues that would cause a 24 year old man in perfect physical condition to have a heart attack. I was called as an expert witness years ago in a case involving a man in Little Rock who had a heart attack in the doctor’s office at age 30, and everyone thought that was unheard of. And the victim in that case was certainly not in Damar Hamlin’s physical condition.

I read recently that there are about 15 football deaths in the US each year. Most of them in high school football, which makes sense as there are many more young men playing high school football than there are playing college football. And vastly more in college than there are playing professional football.

Athletes who climb the ladder to college then the pros go through much more exhaustive physicals than do the kids who sign up to play high school football. Most of them get a note from their family doctor saying they’re fit to play. Some get kind of Mickey Mouse sports physicals. I’ve done many, many of those. You listen to the kid’s chest, check out his eyes, nose, throat, and ears. Check for a hernia. Check his blood pressure. And that’s about it. Other than listening closely for a heart murmur, which can be the marker of a potential problem, it’s almost worthless.

The pros go through a vastly more comprehensive physical. They are valuable commodities, so the teams hiring them want to make sure they’re fit to play and won’t have some sort of issue that sidelines them permanently while the team still has to pay them.

Which is why you don’t see this happen more often. They are thoroughly vetted from a health perspective.

We can be fairly sure Hamlin was vaccinated, because the NFL has a vaccine mandate. But he may have applied for a religious exemption or something. Since there have been so many vaccine-related injuries to young men (and women), I think his vaccination status is pertinent.

But I’m not ready to call it a vaccine injury at this point, because we simply don’t know. I am happy he is awake and apparently aware of what’s going on. Let’s not jump to any conclusions until we know more. Right now it’s only a guess.''

Damar Hamlin’s Tragedy, Anti-vaxxers’ Gold
Opportunists used the cardiac arrest of an NFL player to promote deadly disinformation.

On Monday, the Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin collapsed from cardiac arrest during an NFL game. Nearly right away—with little information about Hamlin’s condition publicly available—vaccine-disinformation purveyors hopped onto Twitter to promote the myth that athletes are dying because of the coronavirus shot.

By Tuesday, according to data from the Center for Countering Digital Hate, a nonprofit that studies disinformation and online hate, tweets containing the phrase “died suddenly” (which the group labels an “anti-vaxx trope”) had quadrupled, numbering almost 17,000—four times the daily average of about 4,000.

I spoke over the phone to the CCDH’s CEO, Imran Ahmed, to talk about the entire episode—and how it compares with previous vaccine-disinformation campaigns on Twitter. Ahmed did not hold back when discussing “the sociopathic, predatory nature of these people who prey on tragedy to spread bullshit.” (As of this writing, Hamlin remains in critical condition.)

Our conversation has been condensed and edited for clarity.

Caroline Mimbs Nyce: Can you talk to me a little bit about what you saw after the Hamlin collapse—what the volume of the anti-vax disinformation looked like online?

Imran Ahmed: First of all, it’s worth saying that anti-vaxxers have proven extremely opportunistic—parasites, really, who feed on the algorithmic salience of breaking news and current events to amplify their own narrative.

We have seen consistently that every time a high-profile death has occurred, very quickly, anti-vaxxers have jumped on and said, Yes, that happened because of the vaccine, and here’s the information about it. Right now, they’re trying to promote the anti-vax documentary Died Suddenly.

This is about gaming social-media platforms. They don’t actually care about the narrative content of the idea that a 24-year-old footballer who was vaccinated some time ago suddenly collapsed on the pitch. What they care about is the mathematical amplification that is theirs to enjoy, despite the fact they promote false information all the time, breaking the rules of the platforms. Platforms do not allow the deliberate spread of deadly disinformation. Nevertheless, these people are allowed to continue.

Nyce: Talk to me about how died suddenly became an anti-vaccine trope.

Ahmed: The idea that people are going to die as a result of the vaccine has always been a central charge. Anti-vaxxers only have three charges. One was that COVID’s not that bad. The second is that vaccines are bad. A third is you can’t trust doctors. There were only ever three themes that underpinned all the memes.

This is a classic example of the “vaccines are bad” type. And they’ve been saying for a long time that vaccines are going to kill people. What has proven to continue to be effective messaging is that in that short space between someone dying of unclear causes and the official medical examiner or coroner deciding what was the cause of death, anti-vaxxers will immediately jump in and use that space in which there is uncertainty to say, “The vaccine did it.” Of course, it takes a couple of days for doctors or coroners to work out what exactly happened. This isn’t about other people being bad at getting information out. This is about bad actors weaponizing those moments in which science is doing its job, which is trying to gather evidence. And they are really happy to weaponize the deliberate pace of science in order to sow disinformation.

Nyce: And how do we combat that kind of disinformation?

Ahmed: Really simply: Don’t give them the world’s most powerful communications platform to spread this stuff. There is no way to combat it. This is an asymmetric battle, because disinformation is designed to be non-falsifiable. So how do you falsify in the absence of actual medical information in that period? How do you falsify that they died of a vaccine? Of course it’s implausible. You’re not going to spend every moment of your day trying to debunk the overwhelming tidal wave of bullshit that comes from anti-vaxxers.

It’s an asymmetric battle, because they can flood the zone with lies faster than we could possibly debunk them. So this is not a debunking job. This is a [question of] why are people who systematically break the rules of platforms allowed to continue to do so? And the reason why is because it draws attention. And for social-media platforms, they are in an unholy battle right now to hold on to the ill-gotten revenue generated by the attention given to deliberate disinformation.

Nyce: Obviously, right now Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, and the policy changes he has made to moderation, is a hot topic. Did anything about the way that this unfolded on Twitter surprise you? Do you think it would have been different had Elon not been in charge?

Ahmed: No, it wouldn’t have been different. This is not an Elon Musk question. Twitter has always been atrocious at dealing with anti-vax disinformation. And it took a long time for them to act, for example, on the Disinformation Dozen that CCDH wrote about in early 2021. Twitter is an incredibly badly run company, and it has been for a long time. It has never had sufficient moderation staff to be able to deal with things.

What Twitter’s playbook used to be was to tell everyone that they’re trying their best. Elon, in one respect, is much more honest about it. He’s doing nothing, and he’s saying, Yeah, I’m doing nothing, mate.

Nyce: With this particular incident, how much were the usual suspects involved? You mentioned the Dozen that you all had reported on in 2021.

Ahmed: These are all familiar bullshit artists. One of them is the Twitter account for the movie Died Suddenly.

Nyce: I’m not sure how many people know this: Died Suddenly is a viral documentary. And that phrase and that hashtag are considered anti-vax and have become a meme in that community?

Ahmed: It’s the hashtag chosen by the producers of this movie, which alleges that people who die suddenly are dying because of the vaccine.

My wife and I are hoping to have children in the next couple of years. And when you become a parent, you start to think about, What if we bring this thing into the world that is wonderful, and it dies in the first year of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome? And it’s like someone coming along and preying on that anxiety, and telling you, “No, no, that’s because of the vaccine, these sudden deaths. The doctors have been lying to you—they’re in a big cabal. They’re killing your child.”

It is the sociopathic, predatory nature of these people who prey on tragedy to spread bullshit, and it is so depressing that anyone would help them—let alone some of the biggest companies in the world, which are not just facilitating but helping to monetize and often knowingly enabling this kind of parasitic behavior.

Nyce: You all reported that the number of “died suddenly” tweets quadrupled after the incident on Monday night. How does that compare to other similar disinformation campaigns around prominent people either having cardiac episodes or dying?

Ahmed: The baseline was different when the pandemic was active, because there was a high baseline. So this is a sudden resurgence of activity. We haven’t seen this kind of resurgence recently. Their messages are taking advantage of the weakened immune system in social media and in particular on Twitter. Because Twitter really has no immune system and is completely immunocompromised. It’s now ridden with disinformation actors pushing disinformation narratives, making it an incredibly uncertain environment to get information from. Because you don’t know who’s posting what and for what reason.

And the truth is that because of the way the algorithms work, at a really simple level, disinformation has the advantage on social-media platforms, because it receives engagement from people who support it and people who oppose it and people who are fact-checking it. And the problem is that these narratives then start to build trends of their own.

Nyce: A lot of people were really surprised by how quickly the anti-vax stuff started cropping up after Hamlin’s collapse on Monday night. Were you surprised by the timeline at all?

Ahmed: No, no. They’re really fast, because, look, they don’t have to worry about coming up with facts. They just have to come up with a lie. You can be the best cardiac surgeon in the world. You could be watching, and you would have no idea what happened. But for someone selling lies—I could make up something. “It was an invisible horse. It trampled him. Didn’t you see it? It was an invisible horse. I’m sure. I could hear it. I couldn’t see it, obviously, because it’s invisible, but I could hear it. Go back and listen to it really carefully. The crowd is very loud, but there’s definitely an invisible horse.” I mean, this sort of junk is very easy to make up.

And by the way, saying he died because of a vaccine is as ludicrous as saying he died because of an invisible horse. It is profoundly ludicrous to me, because more than two-thirds of the world’s population has taken the vaccine—billions of people.

Sudden cardiac arrest and sudden cardiac death has been an issue in sports for decades. It seems so unusual because the players are generally viewed as being young, healthy and in great fitness.

But it happens more than we realize. The study below shows 617 players died of sudden cardiac arrest in just FOUR years between 2014-2018!

FIFA and UEFA tried to address it but it's pretty difficult, if not effectively impossible to screen for. The introduction AED's and specialized First Responders has made a huge difference in preventing death.
Vaccines of any kind, even pre-COVID, were never a factor identified in autopsies. Not that this will matter to the online-Cardiologist genuis' who can diagnose cause by watching TV or YouTube! (no wonder "they" want to microchip the conspiridiots!

FIFA Sudden Death Registry (FIFA-SDR): a prospective, observational study of sudden death in worldwide football from 2014 to 2018

https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/56/2/80

"Objective To investigate the underlying causes and regional patterns of sudden death in football (soccer) players worldwide to inform and improve existing screening and prevention measures.

Methods From 2014 to 2018 cases of sudden cardiac death (SCD), survived sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and traumatic sudden death were recorded by media monitoring (Meltwater), a confidential web-based data platform and data synchronisation with existing national Sudden Death Registries (n=16). Inclusion criteria were met when sudden death occurred during football-specific activity or up to 1 hour afterwards. Death during other activities was excluded.

Results A total of 617 players (mean age 34±16 years, 96% men) with sudden death were reported from 67 countries; 142 players (23%) survived.

A diagnosis by autopsy or definite medical reports was established in 211 cases (34%).

The leading cause in players >35 years was coronary artery disease (76%) and in players ≤35 years was sudden unexplained death (SUD, 22%).

In players ≤35 years the leading cause of SCD varied by region: cardiomyopathy in South America (42%), coronary artery anomaly in North America (33%) and SUD in Europe (26%).

Traumatic sudden death including commotio cordis occurred infrequently (6%). Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) resulted in a survival rate of 85% with the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) compared with 35% without."

Another interesting paper:

Sudden Cardiac Death in Athletes

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/ar...te of SCD,impact on the surrounding community.

"The most common causes of SCD in athletes are shown in Table 2. In athletes under 35 years of age, inherited cardiac conditions predominate, with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and anomalous origin of a coronary artery being the two most common causes in the United States.

In athletes older than 35, most SCD events are due to acquired atherosclerotic coronary artery disease "

Tucker Carlson's bogus source revealed:

Damar Hamlin and COVID vaccines: No scientific basis for bogus claim of link to more athletes collapsing, dying

Social media users shared a range of false claims this week. Here are the facts: Researchers have not proven that more than 1,500 athletes have suffered cardiac arrest since COVID-19 vaccinations began.

CLAIM: Two researchers found that more than 1,500 athletes have suffered cardiac arrest since COVID-19 vaccinations began, compared to a previous average of 29 athletes per year, suggesting the vaccines are causing a dramatic rise in such cardiac issues.

THE FACTS: The researchers cited a number from a blog that lists news stories about recent deaths and medical emergencies among people of all ages, from all over the world — some of which were attributed to other causes.

Following Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrestduring a game Monday, social media posts and Fox News gave air to a long-circulating and faulty narrative that COVID-19 vaccines are causing a dramatic increase in athlete deaths.

“Cardiologist Peter McCullough and researcher Panagis Polykretis looked into this trend in Europe, European sports leagues. They found that prior to COVID and the COVID-19 vaccines there were roughly 29 cardiac arrests in those European sports leagues per year,” Fox’s Tucker Carlson claimed in a segment Tuesday. “Since the vax campaign began, there have been more than 1,500 total cardiac arrests in those leagues and two-thirds of those were fatal.”

Carlson was in fact referencing a letter, not a rigorous study, that McCullough and Polykretis published in a Scandinavian journal in late 2022. And that letter simply cites the blog goodsciencing.com.

The blog’s list is a compilation of news reports about recent deaths and medical emergencies, and it includes cases not reported to be spurred by cardiac arrest: Some deaths, for example, were reportedly from cancer.

The list also includes incidents from around the world and among people of all ages — including some in their 70s and 80s — not just athletes in “European sports leagues,” as Carlson claimed.

“It’s not real research,” Dr. Matthew Martinez, director of sports cardiology at Atlantic Health System in Morristown Medical Center, told the AP. “Anybody can write a letter to the editor and then quote an article that has no academic rigor.”

Dr. Jonathan Kim, chief of sports cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine, similarly said of the blog post: “It’s just shocking to use that as a citation.”

“It’s scientific garbage, you can’t just pull a bunch of media reports,” he added.

The letter by McCullough and Polykretis goes on to compare the blog’s questionable “1,598″ figure of recent incidents to a 2006 study that found 1,101 reports of sudden cardiac death in athletes over a 38-year period, or an average of 29 per year. That analysis, however, reviewed literature specifically for reports of sudden cardiac death among athletes under the age of 35. The study also noted that its findings were limited because cases were likely underestimated.”

Dr. Neel Chokshi, medical director of Penn Medicine’s Sports Cardiology and Fitness Program, said it would be “inaccurate” to make conclusions by comparing the 2006 study and the blog’s figures.

“The data presented here does not support the notion that vaccines have caused an increase in sudden death,” he said.

The COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna do carry a rare risk of myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart, though experts and officials say the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks. Cardiologists have told the AP that they have not observed the dramatic increase in sudden cardiac arrest as alleged on social media. McCullough and Fox News did not return requests for comment.

Tuckers got it all wrong. The vaccine was developed by Bill gates and is designed to turn everyone GAY! Bill gates is the only man in the world with the covid vaccine serum which he is using for a selective breeding program, not unlike what Hitler was doing back in the 40s! The intent of the vaccine and government mandates along with grooming school children into thinking gay is the only option. It's as effective as sterilizing the entire population. What gaets didn't expect was the conservative uprising who knew better and didn't take the vaccine. So gates staged 1/6 to try to get the military to eliminate the conservatives when he realized they outsmarted him. All the evidence you need is on fox and breibart not the fake groomer news that hides stories like this and the hunter Biden bombshell so they can control the media.

Tucker welcomes some of these far right anti-vaxx elements on his show. Of course they have to discuss the so called "Woke" agenda that has to be "rectified":

Former Green Beret warns of extreme narrative pushed into the military and US institutions
Ivan Raiklin told 'Tucker Carlson Today' people in his network are “willing to bend and budge on their moral, ethical and even legal principles,” so they do not lose their jobs or benefits.

I dont get why some people defend the vaccine like its their child. I get you have buyers remorse and were culpable for all the side effects were seeing. Side effects being record crime, record visits to food banks and record number of young people dying suddenly. Including 4 Toronto area doctors randomly dropping dead..

Why do people bend over to pfizer so hard. Its literally a private company that forced a vaccine on people. Its ironic that the most self-proclaimed 'high education' ones that read metaphorical books like 1984 are so delusional to think this is a benevolent mandate.

The government cared so much about health right? Yet they dont care about record number of domestic violence scenarios...including within the police force. Record food bank visits. Record credot card debt.

Didnt your government care about us??

Stop this 'anti-vaxxers' bullshit. People lost their livlihoods and many are dropping dead randomly and its being swept under the rug.

If you want pfizer to own you...fine. Stop forcing others to have your beliefs. That is the very definition extremism.

Forcing?

Let me get this straight.

You can make claims that vaccines make me sick but I cannot say to others that vaccines did not make me sick?
Why do people defend the vaccine so hard then? Like to the point of belittling someone that chooses not to get it because they feel the vaccine side effects outweighs the risk to them of covids effects?

Yeah, we can't be responsible for the silly and demented folks who believe a vaccine that has been distributed to millions and millions of folks of all ages is dangerous. I still would like to send all the anti-vaxxers to a deserted island for a long long vacation but Justin is ignoring my emails again.

So a private business forced you to inject their product and you 100% trust that? Makes sense.

'Anti-vaxxers' lol. Guessing you dont read much? Just keep watching cp24 and keep getting scared instead of doing research on a product you injected then brag about.

Why don't you just send money directly to the pharmaceutical companies if theyre so benevolent?

History repeats itself clearly. You might be arrogant to think..'not my generation..we wont fall for this?'. Turns out..Canadians are more ignorant and stupider than I thought. So easy to control with fear. So so easy.

scammers do the same thing when you get those scam calls. 'Your credit card had feaud..your SIN has been compromised. They play on fear.

Same reason US is allowed to bomb countries and killed millions. People were very scared after 9/11 and gave the govt a blank cheque to bomb whoever they wanted. Two countries invaded and millions killed due to fear.

Was that justified?
