Don’t be alarmed by the soldiers at a TTC station this weekend.
The 48th Highlanders of Canada Army reserve unit will be holding a training exercise on Saturday and Sunday at Bay Lower station.
The transit agency says people may see unarmed soldiers in uniform in the area of Bay station between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
“The TTC regularly partners with public safety organizations to provide a unique venue for different kinds of training exercises,” the TTC said in a news release Friday.
“As Bay Lower station is not accessible to the public, there will no impact to service at the station. Customers who happen to see members of their local Army reserve should feel free to say hello.”
The TTC said no live ammunition will be used in the exercise.
The event is not open to the public or journalists.
Lower Bay station, dormant since 1966, is often used to train TTC staff and has also starred as a location for several Hollywood films.
