I'm 5'10. My lady friend is 6'1. That makes her 6'4-6'5 with heels on (depending which ones). I'm so cool with this!

Hey cute-bald... F.Y.I., her husband was 5'4. Just thought you might like to know (and for his last year, even shorter as he was in a wheelchair), and no, I'm not joking.

Lets not forget .... it WAS FIRST pointed out by her...

that the reason I would not be getting dates on P.O.F. is because I am short at 5'5" ...... like I don't already know!! AND the fact that there is thousands of single women on P.O.F from the Toronto area who ALL share this mentality that they would be "settling" if they dated anyone under 5'10"+. P.S. these are the ladies, who almost all , have had horrible past relationships because of their mentality & selection criteria. The stupid are those that keep doing the same thing over ..... P.O.F. is in no short supply of stupid.

In my University days I so thought it was as simple as going for the ladies shorter than me. They DO NOT just want a man a few inches taller than them. They COMPARE a guy to the stereotypical profile of a "manly man" .... & thus subconsciously conclude the short man is not manly=sexy. This explains the main reason why a women 5' can be sooo fastidious on "needing" a man 12" taller ...... even though she barely stands taller than his belt buckle & contrary to all her other lame justifications.

OK, seriously dude, do yourself and everybody else a favor, and just put your rant on women daring to have preferences in who they date and how height is the only reason why a "short" guy like you can't hook a date in your signature. I would guess though that this may be increasing. At 5' 10" I was considered relatively tall in my teens. But nowadays, judging from the height of just about every young male in my extended family, I feel relatively short. No doubt, genetics is a factor, but not one of their parents is any taller than me, so I'm thinking there has to be more than just heredity coming into play. It would appear to be an evolutionary trend.

Perhaps that explains the inferiority complex of some 'short' guys. They would appear to be approaching 'visible minority' status.

BTW, ever walk through the ROM and wonder at the tiny size of all those medievel suits of armour?

I stand at 6'1". I often have conversations that go like this.

Him: How tall are you?
Me: Six foot one.
Him: Can't be, you're at least 6'3" because I'm 6'2" and you're taller than me (sic).

I've come to the conclusion that many many guys overestimate their heights by about 2 inches. Also men in their 40s and 50s simply assume they have the same stature they had when they were 20 and haven't remeasured themselves in 30 years.

A piece of advice from a guy who has been picked on for most of his life for the following reasons.
1) I was ALWAYS overweight and everyone knows children can be very crewel
2) until I turned 17 the only 2 guys shorter than me were guys with growth defects who to this day are the same height they were at 12 years old. I grew in spurts. I reached 6 feet tall at 24 years of age.

I've been made fun of for being short & for being fat. It's not pretty. But you have to overcome yourself. You need to accept yourself for who you are. Accept that you can never make everyone happy. Accept that if you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at. And accept that everyone has personal tastes which vary.
Personal tastes and politics are two things which should never be discussed because there is no way to have a resolution to the discussion about them.
As for POF. I've had women contact me back and forth when my first profile was on there. I've had many women enjoy my communications and my banter on their boards but I also got many moderators very angry at me to the point they ended up banning my account, well actually they banned 2 of my accounts.
I look at it this way. Everyone has a job. I am me and you don't like it you can blow me. If you try to tease me remember I've heard most things so if it's not original be prepared to have your intelligence and creativeness challenged, and be made a fool of in front of your girl. If it's something I've found witty in the past or I feel is creative I'll laugh right along with you and usually send a zinger back your way.
And why is it always the ones with the Napoleonic syndrome that this has to be explained to??
