Because no one invited you or anything. Thus your only companions are the buffoons you see on the CityTV new year's coverage?

Kind of, but you don't have to stay that way. Make it a new years resolution to get active in more things and wind up with a better plan next year.

Nope. Get some steak and lobster and enjoy the freedom of solitude.

No. Maybe you don't have any friends because you are not very sociable, but you are still a valuable human being who can contribute to society.

Post more reviews and you'll be invited to the Terb virtual NYE party.

Don't forget the escorts. Obviously, he lives alone. That can be an advantage, take out is an option.

But I still say that by next year he can regroup and develop more options by making a point to be more active and outgoing. It does not come naturally to some but everyone can make themselves do it.

It's just another day. What's the big deal? When you think about it,isn't your birthday the start of a new year?

I have to work New Years Day,so I will be home on NYE.

Just about 2 miles past appropriate

Only if it makes you miserable and you do nothing about it. Some people, especially those with hectic lives, actually enjoy a little solitude every now and then. If you are alone and feeling sorry for yourself then that's a whole different matter.

IMO You are a loser if it is not your choice to be alone. There are bars, pubs without the dinners and fat ticket entry fees. Keep yourself busy but don't sit at home and feel sorry for yourself.

you're saving money by staying home and NOT paying hyper-inflated prices at bars and restaurants (as whoisyourdaddy mentioned), not to mention gas and transportation

if you're staying home AND spending outrageous amounts of money on some OCD thing, like in the TV show hoarders ... that's a different story

Last year ex of 6 years gave me best Xmas gift ( she left me ). Guys wanted to take me out New Years Eve. I passed. Instead I went and saw a couple of my regular MP/SP and had my balls dropped early. Got home in time to see NY Times Square ball drop also.

Best New Years in decades. may repeat this year.

Not at all, I don't care to watch the buffoons on TV, been there done that. Not interested.
I'd rather chill with a select few friends and/or just watch a movie and chill.

But I'm with IG-88, it's a chance to over inflate prices and people get suckered into it for what is really, just another night.

You don't have to spend loads of money - those events are typically geared to couples. There are lots of bars open that just charge drinks (or a nominal charge at most to cover buffet, etc). To sit alone in the dark because you are saving money is not an answer. You should look at this as an opportunity to meet people.

FUNNY !!! LOL ..... I like this one !! :cheer2:

Actually often depends on age. Most older folks have friends who have children & are low key ( just stay at home ) ...... not into partaking in drunk fests. Each to their own. I think has no reflection on social status, popularity or if you are a loser. Also don't forget the cultural differences ......... some do not celebrate THIS New Year ( eg. Chineese or Ukranian New Year ).

Meh, don't be silly. We may have our own new year on the luna calendar, but we're a very sociable people. Rarely pass on the opportunity to have a party. We just have twice the fun.

+1. Get some confidence in your decisions OP. New Years is so overrated that it makes more an more sense to stay at home.

Once upon a time, during the 70's, at the legendary height of his prowess, Warren Beatty spent New Year's Eve alone. I heard him speak about it on a televised interview. I'm sure he was invited and expected at many a function most on TERB would never be privy to.

New Year's Eve is no different than any other Saturday night. New year's Day is an extra Sunday where you get to sleep in. That's all it is.

Whatever you do, enjoy it. Don't measure yourself up against anything or anyone else.
