Wow, lots of drama. Nice to know so many terbites are morally above hitting on a hooker. Lol.

I have had this very dilemma in both Toronto and Vegas. Also at casinos across Canada. Vegas especially though, but the fear of john law down there, and the expectation of ridiculously high prices, kept me from doing more than just smiling at them and walking right on by.

Were I to risk it with a lady who, due to her mannerisms and/or her seeking out eye contact led me to suspect that maybe she's, you know, not just waiting for her sunday school teacher to come pick her up for class, I would just ask her if she was busy, and if maybe she'd like to get a drink. A few risque remarks early in the conversation should give a better indication of if she's a pro or not. I doubt I'd be the first one to mention rates though - again, the LE concern. Maybe ask her, over her double rye and ginger, if she spends a lot of time hanging around hotel bars talking to strange men. She'd hopefully put out some stronger feelers.

The irony is this happens to places where the populace are not, shall I dare to say open-minded or tolerant according to the law compared to Canada when it comes to soliciting sex for money.

And yes you could notice some of them are operating in pairs at the bars in Four Seasons, Fairmont/Raffle, the Pennisula or Ritz Carlton outside North America and it's an open secret to many white male executives who have frequent business trips over there.

Not necessarily so since based on my limited experience, these working ladies tend to hover around me, initiate small talks and finally giving me a "quote" for an hour of fun with her or with her sister.

Maybe they think I am a good target to get nickled and dimmed given I am alone at the bar waiting for someone in the washroom, or I am just good looking, sounds interesting in conversation, so irresible that they say I am getting a "discount" for having really fun time together.

BTW, the hotel management usually turn a blind eye on this as long as the working ladies are in discreet and keeping a very low profile, no illicit drugs exchange in the building and no family minded/oriented lodgers in the hotel making formal complaints or reports to the management and law enforcements.

Umm, why wouldn't you just approach her as a civilian girl if she's interesting? If she's a pro you'll find out, and if not you could have a good time of it anyway. You might also get a good dose of rejection but consider it a learning experience for next time.

As somebody who's casually approached women as 'civi women' and never found a pro it's worked out OK for me...

Totally agree...there are so many woman who dress so revealing that giving you the working girl impression, but also there are so many working girls who dress more conservatively.

For me, it's more for the spontaneity and the thrill of the event. I know I can book ahead, but what if I wasn't "feeling" it the night before my business meeting?

And again...obviously I'm not gonna ask a girl if she's a working girl or not. That's just plain stupidity and rudeness.

From my understanding escorts are illegal in Vegas itself, but there are a few places in the middle of nowhere like the chicken/bunny ranch where it's legal.

I've been in and around hotels all over canada. and i've had working girls walk up to me outside the hotel while i was having a smoke, or seen the same girls in the bar a few minutes later. It's not a retarded concept, to wonder if a lady in a hotel bar, is a possible sp. how to approach, can be different depending on where you are. but i'd go with make eye contact, and/or send over/ offer a drink and get the ball rolling. Gusto, I don't think that is what he was asking. He is looking for advice on how to approach a woman that he see's that he may be interested in.

The simplest way is to ask her if she would like to have a drink. Make light chit chat with her and ask what she's doing in town. You will soon find out if she is a regular girl at a hotel or if she happens to be an SP she will make it known to you.

Why should we not approach women that we see and may be interested in. I've travelled all over North America on business and have meet many women this way. You may not wind up in bed but you do make lots of friends. Had a few show me around to some of the hotspots when I travel.

Don't be shy just approach and be a gentleman.
