Never had any problems whatsoever with any Mac I've used or owned (1st Mac was a IIci).

PC, well, problems ALWAYS! Whether it was a Dell, Sony or whatever, a GIANT HEADACHE!!!

In the laboratory.
I have a friend who recently purchased an iMac. He had the misfortune to also buy an Airport Express Router to go with it. Nothing but hassles in setting the damn thing up. Seeing his problems, I'm happy to be with W7 and Ubuntu.

...about "pretty easy.."

Used Apples for years at home, swapped files etc with office PCs. So I had no qualms about getting the latest 2 years ago for a new business.

However as a Best Buy Geek quietly told me lately,

"yeah, Leopard really SUCKED!"

1) More Excel crashes on the Mac in 2 years that I have had in the last 10 on PCs.

2) Huge email problems.

3) MOST blatant; communication with banks (BNS, BMO, TD) and my franchise H.O. have numerous defects.

4) Bought Snow Leopard, figuring it would 'fix' most problems. Nope WORSE.

All I am going to say is THANK GOODNESS (or is that God?) for MACs. I got my iMAC 3 years ago after many years struggling with shitty PCs and I have never looked back. Got a MACbook Pro to go with it.

Never had any problems. I still kept my old Dell Inspiron laptop so that I could use SWISH that isn't made for MACs but with all the headaches that PCs caused rearing their ugly heads again I am thinking of giving the Dell Inspiron to the first hobo I meet, if I ever meet one.

Hmm.

1) Excel is made by Microsoft - maybe you should ask them?
2) Email problems would most likely be the fault of your ISP - it's not Hotmail by any chance? (Microsoft again)
3) Banks are notorious for writing their software to work with Microsoft IE only...

Seems you might be misdirecting your anger...

apple email manager - very primitive

The email manager is very primitive. Sometimes, it crashes and you lose the email you were typing. Have it set up to gmail. It crashes and I lose everything. I've since learned my lesson and am using my browser to use gmail again... not the apple email manager.

yeah leopard does have some shortcomings but i have to use VM anyways just so i can do work at home, so I just mix and match between pc and mac use all the time. Works out well for me.

Macs are a tiny part of the market, and its THEIR job to ensure compatibility with the rest of the universe.
After paying for extensive NERD time-

1) I have no interest in talking to Software providers, and avoid whenever I can. Simple fact, recent versions of Excel at home (PC) have not caused me the hassles at work (Mac).
2) No. Recent issues have been lack of back compatibility with Snow Leopard.
3) True. Again, NOT my problem. Apple should be kissing ass and writing software for banks and other big client linked corps.

What email manager are u referring too?
I also prefer Web based ..... which is Snow Leopard Server works great. Gmail Web based is what do you know... i really like Yahoo for that too .... but they use Zimbra ... which i believe is what Google uses... But do not quote me on that.

1) So Apple should fix Microsoft's Office for them.... probably a good idea .... i have had some issues with 2008 Office and crashes but it is usually the normal becoming corrupt or the fact that Microsoft caches things out side the standard OSX uses... so yes Apple should fix the bad design.
2) Again what version of Office are u using? All my 2008 issues have been in regards to cacheing and the normal. If u r using 2004 it was never meant to run on the intel and was PPC only .... Apple made it work through Rosetta .... it made the PPC api's feel at home.
3) I bank at 5 different banks online and use all the payments processors portals to do work for work. I think designers should write to web based standards rather then browser biased standards.... but that would be good design...
Sorry you had your issues .... i know it would have been the same in Ubuntu ... because well as much as i love Wine .... there are still issues with MS products here and there.
But if you like Windows 7 and it so far looks good .... and runs well on Virtual Box .
You could always have a small mac partition on your drive and install Windows in bootcamp and be back to what you are comfortable with.

Use the one that makes you happy.

I use both Mac and PC. Mac for work and communications (there's nothing wrong with Mail). PC for gaming. The Mac never crashes on me; the PC (Vista) does almost every day.
