Hi,

I was very sick this weekend with the common cold. I did some research on the internet and found a site that recommended raw garlic, ginger, lemon and honey instead of antibiotics prescribed by an MD that do nothing against viruses like the common cold.

After watching the Merck Vioxx scandal in the U.S., I think medicine is another dirty business that works against the average person. I gave the garlic and ginger a try, and I am back to 95% health in 24 hours. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.

Anyone else want to share?

Thanks

Where do you think modern medicine come sfrom? Pills are more or less a concentrated form of the natural herbs that this planet has. And like you said, modern medicine is a business with its own agenda.

It's laughable how just because modern medicine is not capable of curing every person, and there are definitely some horror stories out there, people are ready to denigrate the positive results medicine has provided to countless billions and billions of people. By far, the average person has greatly benefitted from traditional medicine as opposed to your statement.

depends how drunk I am
I'd definitely recommend garlic for colds. Make sure you eat it raw though, as cooking kills some of the beneficial elements of garlic (vitamins, allicin). I'd also recommend combining it with raw parsley as well. Parsley- as stated by the 'juceman' Jay Kordic is supposedly the 3rd most nutritious food on the planet (using the formula -nutrients per calorie). I know for a fact that parsley is loaded with vitamins, so there is some truth to that statement.
Usually the most healthy foods to eat taste like crap, and these 2 may fall into that category for some. If the taste is too unbearable, try eating these nutrient rich foods with a slice of apple or other fruit (which are also good for colds cause they're loaded with vitamin C).
Eating these kinds of foods regularly will NATURALLY boost up your immune system big-time. Not only will you recover faster from a cold, but you'll also be more resistant to catching another one in the future. Just try it for a little while and see.

When I feel a clod coming on,,,I swallow a whole head of galic cut into pill size fragments, combined with echinacea. Works great, but obviously I don't go in to work that night! ;)

A friend of mine is a homeopathic docter, and is always telling me about funny uses for things. Garlic is a great one, as it can help with colds, sinuses, imunity, even yeast infections.

Also, rubbing the rind of a lime on your forehead when you have a headache is said to ease/cure it.

There are soooo many websites about this stuff too. Pretty interesting stuff.
