Down to the Final Four this weekend. Should be a really good game Sunday night with Dice-K up against Roy Oswalt. I had been hoping for a Japan-USA match up at some point of the tournament. Japan will be without their top slugger, Shuichi Murata, who was sent home with a torn hamstring. USA has added Evan Longoria to replace Youkilis and Ryan Braun will be available to play.

I am looking forward to these two games, USA-Japan and Venezuela-Korea on Saturday with the final played on Monday night.

I was looking forward to a good game tonight, but it looks like only 1 side is world class. They play such fundamentally good baseball. It's sort of like the way the Europeans play fundamentally sound basketball compared to American players.

Japan plays the same style of ball which is why I think they'll beat the U.S. If the Americans are gonna win it will have to be with their biggest advantage, power and the long ball.

What did they put in those guy's rice ?????? Or had Jack in the Box and In N Out acted like roids on them? Or maybe my ex on the left coast has been feeding em some avacado/bacon sandwiches. Damn, I could go for one of those, thing I miss the most about her :p Well, the part where she asked me to COF was kinda sweet too ......

I don't have much faith in the USA tonight unless they get a supreme pitching effort from Oswalt and a few dingers.

Could be an all Asian final *sigh*

I have been very impressed with the pitching on the Asian teams (Japan and Korea). That kid last nite was terrific and Japan has at least 3-4 top quality pitchers (Dice-K and Darvish to name two). Although the Korean pitcher was very good, Venezuela pretty much beat themselves with all their errors. That was some pretty sloppy baseball.

Hoping for a good game tonight and one in which Dice-K gets through without getting injured. He will be able to throw 100 pitches tonight and I am sure both Theo and Tito are thrilled to know that.

I know he isn't playing for USA but he plays for your Phillies so I'm going after him.

I'm hoping to a Korea-Japan final. Those two countries love to beat each other in anything. The Korean fans are nuts and with the games in LA it is a wild atmosphere. Americans don't care about the WBC. Most are obsessed with the NCAA bball tournament and don't even know what is going on with the WBC.

Ok, we'll agree on one thing then ...... Pedroia's a dog
A dog who has won 2 major awards in his two seasons in MLB along with a world series championship. Not to mention, he was the starting second baseman for the USA team at the WBC. If that is a dog, give me a whole team of them.

It looks like an all Asian championship game Japan vs Korea, maybe it's about time MLB stop calling their championship the WORLD SERIES.
