Well then, let me lay some Boccherini on ya. He got wiped out by Mozart and Beethoven. They lived and worked in the center of the musical world, Vienna. Boccherini was based in the outlier Madrid.I do enjoy it but don't have a lot of expertise on the subject. I like Rachmaninoff, Holst, Tchaikovsky and Vivaldi. I listened to classical 96 when we were more reliant on radio for music, usually if jazz 91 had some boner killing program on it was my alternate.
Get all the exposure on Youtube you want.
But do more than dip your toe.
Hearing pieces played live is a totally realer experience, despite how high end your ear buds might be.
The sounds float in all around you seeing an orchestra in a good hall.
Even the best recordings only approximate the feeling of being there to see and sense it live.
