any tips or advices on open relationship during marriage?

I have a friend whose much younger wife separated and divorced him. She came back about 20 months later and they remarried and now are happy and had kids. Separation rarely works but sometimes the grass isn’t greener….she did bang a few guys and was fairly attractive but IMHO very obsessive and difficult.

Wtf is an open marriage?
First, its a loss loss situation for you, no matter how pretty or ugly she is, she will definatley get more dick than you will get pussy.
Second, open marriage will not work simply because either one of you will fall into jealousy and if not then there is no love.
Move on man...

Its for the many people for which sex and love is totally different things.

Oh Coolman, you so need to move on. The fact that your wife would suggest this - or even tolerate it, if it was your idea - means that you have NO value, ZILCH value, NADA value in her eyes (Although she may intend on using you as a backup or a source of funds. See Goodoer's post #9 above). Do not listen any of this "Win her back" malarky you are hearing from the Mommie's boys on this board. No woman ever "comes back" to a man unless either:
(1) She figures she can do no better (Do you want to be that guy?) or:
(2) She has figured out a way to make use of a man without crimping her own style (Do you want to be THAT guy?) As has been suggested above: Find a new woman and start fresh. And yes, to answer the original question, I have lived in an open relationship, and also in a West Coast commune where everybody fucked everyone else's girlfriend. We thought this was O.K. at the time. (Well, it's not. Not so much....) Move on.

Following up on this thread as I found it interesting... Any news?

I was talking to my best buddy as he's cashing out and moving East with his family. He knows my situation, etc. warts and all. Open Marriage came up again as a 'solution' which I reminded him that the woman controls the access to sex unless money is being exchanged. We both laughed.

Even if the guy is good looking, successful, etc., how can they even match the potential for sexual partners of the woman in an open marriage?
