I think that the Queen has done an excellent job. She has made mistakes, yes, but she has a damn unstoppable sense of duty. She has my respect.

I have strong Scottish ,English roots. One of my uncles was one of the armed guys who ride on the back of the Royal Carriage. I have as a member of the CAF taken the Oath. As a member of the CAF I have been inspected by HM The Queen and HRH Prince Philip.So yes I believe in the Monarchy. I have the program from when my father was part of the Canadian contingent at her Coronation.
I swore the oath on the bible years ago. I questioned it, the HNIC [literally this was Newfoundland] seemed pissed off because I guess he was totally on team Jebus as was the style of the time. Mentioned something about "wasn't he told" as if that was the issue.
So I swore on the bible. Oaths I don't take seriously for 200 Alex. A book full that advocates for rape, genocide, slavery and dealing with rejection through drowning and fire. Hell I'd almost consider myself duty bound to break such an oath.
Not that I bothered to explain that, I mean fuck you you want me to give on oath on the Bible, Mien Kamphf, the Necronomicon or a Justin Beiber CD instead of say, my honour, that's their loss.
