I couldnt find it neither. But after watching cp24 they said she was an occassional sex trade worker and met the accused a few times as a customer before this happened. Unfortunately the last session she tried to black mailed him for more money or she will expose him which lead to him strangling her.

Thank you. This is the first time that I heard she was a sex-trade worker. It changes things, somewhat. When she was reported missing last summer, I assumed that it was maybe an online date gone wrong.
Her killer got 7 years in prison. Seems like a light sentence.

According to the article he is also to be deported after he serves his sentence.
If he served time in pretrial prison he'll likely only serve 5 years or so.

From the perspective of the Crown - they had no body, part of his plea agreement was that he would show them where he had hidden her body and give her family closure.
This would have been a different situation with potentially a several years longer a sentence if her body had been discovered in October.
Yes, Galseigin he can possibly have a life in the PRC, however, the PRC is the type place where the Ministry of Public Security is going to be keeping an eye on him 24/365 and obviously he chose to attempt to remain in Canada rather than return to the PRC after University.
