Anybody ever experienced the heartache of an uninvited animal in the house?

Damn, I inadvertently left the door open and an animal got into the house. I caught a quick glimpse of the beast and it is not a cat or a raccoon. It might be a mutant Ninja squirrel.

Yup. Twice.
1. Squirrel down the chimney when I was away for a few weeks.
Disaster. Ruined curtains, soiled rugs, gnawed woodwork, etc.
2. Left door from attic to roof deck open. Remembered in middle of night and went and closed it… cleverly trapping a raccoon in my attic. The results were predictable.
Good luck to you…

I was at my Buddies place near Spadina and he build a pet flap in his back door for his cats to go in and out. Once I was sleeping there and in the middle of the night I heard the cats screaming and banging. A racoon got into the pet door and was going thru the garbage fighting with the cats and my Buddie was trying to kick him out with a broom. 😂😂😂 The screaming scared the shit out of me.

Me too. Twice. Word gets around in the wildlife kingdom that my house is the one to invade.

Back in the Spring. Heard clawing noises coming from my chimney. Called "Animal Control". its a private company and they charge a fee. Was told it was raccoon birthing season. Long story short. By the time Animal Control finally got here (took 2 weeks), all was quiet. Maybe the critter(s) died or most likely left. Got the one way trap door installed on the chimney anyway.

Now, I fear Mutant Ninja Squirrel is inside the house.

Had the same thing happen to me. It was a roided invading cat . Our two cats didn't take kindly to it and the war started. Don't think about it until it happens. Very sticky situation trying to evict a cat who is in fight to the death mode. the metal sliding door went in the cat door every night after that.
Just glad I don't live in Zimbabwe

Got to be careful with raccoons. They might carry rabies.

Long story short, the beast was probably a possum or opossum. R (1).jpg

Had a cat get into the garage once. He was up in the rafters and wouldn’t come down anytime we were in the garage. I don’t even know how long he was living in there before we found him.

We called some shelters and all said they were full up so we just cared for him for the winter. Left food, water, a bed and litter. He would use it all but would just run up to the rafters whenever we came and we just couldn’t get him down.

One day in late spring, I went out to feed him and change the water and litter and he was gone. I guess it was warm enough for him to finally leave.

I still think about him. We called him PC. Party casher. Because we noticed him when I went to take the garage out at the end of a house party I was having. LOL.

I had one back in university. Helped itself to breakfast even eating all the bacon. Now being on a student's budget eating all the bacon was a huge no no. I shoed it away and swore never to allow a cougar back into my place ever again.
