Now that AI is over I wonder if Mario Vasquez will come out with his album.

I still think Mario would have won, had he chosen to compete.

PS This finale is painfully boring. Anyoe else decide to just watch the last 5 minutes?

Congratulations Carrie. You're a very sweet girl and a very deserving winner.

PS All of us terb AI fans should go to the AI Top 12 show together when they come to the ACC on July 23.

Sounds sweet to me. Maybe we can get the Malfetta twins to sing for us as a warm up to the AI Top 12 concert.

PS Do any of you know how many votes Carrie won by?

Some thoughts in conclusion..

Bo...gracious as the runner-up....

If Bo writes his own music(which I doubt Carrie does), she will be a distant memory in 5 years....while he will be accepting his 3rd or 4th Grammy....

I'm struck by how singing with established pro's like Billy Preston brought out the best in Vonzell...or Carrie with Rascal Flatts...see how it seems so effortless for established, experienced, and talented muscians....and how they make who they sing or play with rise above themselves...although even George Bensen was "workin' it" to make Scott and Nikko sound like they had some real soul....

I think Nadia is "nasty girl" they way she moved to "Walk this Way"....loved her white dress...so is Jessica....an Idol sandwhich...yyymmmmm....

God.....the opening number with everyone but Bo and Carrie singing was "horrific"...

Why does Idol insist on making bigger targets out of the truly talentless?....the girl who sang the American anthem comes to mind...seems kinda meanspirted and cruel.

Someone mentioned "why do the original Idol-penned songs suck so bad"....because they will never be hits, no matter how many marketing dollars they throw at them..

my definition of a "hit"....when you can sing along with the chorus the 2nd time you hear it...not the second time you hear the whole song...the 2nd time you hear the chorus.....period....ask "Heshe"(nobody will get this reference)...

I am "almost" tempted to buy tickes to Idols live at the AC...

Well, it looks like Carrie gets the record deal given to her because she won, but Bo gets one regardless if he won or lost. JMHO

Feelin the Post Idol High and now Low

Jamaica_Luvr your right on with the comments about the good competitors raising there game with the pros. Carrie definitely sounded great with Rascal Flatts (not that I;m a country fan) She sounded like she was the one who made the song famous. The guy sounded good too.

Kenny G+Anwar+Anthony=Steaming Pile of Shit

Kenny Wayne Shepard Not Bad Constantine shit, Jessica So so, Nadia (Jamaica Luvr Footnote) U is a bad ass mamajama. Cut that record immediately

Nikko you are a picka as is that debela picka Scott Savol. Thank God George Benson is the man and when he belted that lyric about "Still play guitar" It honestly sent chills. Yes I am a pussy fag.

Vonzell you are one sexy riba. Mahogony skin so smooth, a young raw beautifully almost tamed voice. Innocence and kindness ooze from your pores.

Lindsay Hot! Mikhala Not! Mikhala is trash and it was blaring tonight. I love Lindsay's big sweater puppies. Babyface phhhffft.

Bo Bice Alabama
Lord I'm coming home to you,
You was robbed of the idol
But my friend thats much better for you

Bo rocked of course. He stole the show.

The verdict. Probably as it should all probably be. Carrie is definitely going to utilize an Idol first place than BO. She fits the mold. Bo is probably better off as most of you have been saying. He could still keep his image without being to affected by the image a Idol winner must maintain. And with Clive Davis in his corner I am quite anxious to hear this collaboration. I;ll put down my 20 for the CD.

Carrie also would have gotten a deal if she lost. Heck, Michaelah (sp) Gordon even got a record deal.

Pretty much agree with Spode's show breakdown.

But I have to say it again... the opening medley was an embarrassment. I like the Beach Boys. I do. I saw them back in 1976. And for God's sake, let's leave them back there.

Then, about 90 minutes of absolutely useless filler. This was a shameless display on Fox's part to sell airtime. Luckily I TiVo'd it and was able to fast forward through most of the crap.

I liked some of the end performances very much. Carrie and Rascal Flatts--very nice. Billy Preston and Vonzell--very nice. George Benson and the fat fuck and the shortstop's son--only good when George started to sing. He is probably pushing 60, and still sounds better than both of them combined. Babyface and Lindsay and Mikhala--Mikhala irritated me with her "stylings", I thought Babyface and Lindsay sounded good. Geez, that Lindsay is hot. Seeing her again saddened me that she was eliminated so early and I didn't get to lust after her week after week. Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bo--well, you knew they were going to do 'Sweet Home Alabama', right? It still was fabulous.

Not to toot my own horn, but I feel pleased that Carrie won, as I predicted. I actually think Bo is more talented, and is probably a better singer, but Carrie is the American Idol type, with the blonde hair and country girl charm and all. As someone else said, Bo is probably better off not winning. It will be interesting to see how Carrie fares in the music industry. Kelly Clarkson is really the only Idol to have any kind of success, and I'd say she did it in spite of her Idol fame, not because of it.

Yup. Could have turned it on at 9.30. Duets etc were good.

Not sure Kelly Clarkson would have had the opportunity without Idol . Didn't she come from Bumfuck Arkansas or Texas or something ? Took her a good two years to live down that movie and shed the post "idol" syndrome.

Don't know why I had to post this but it is quite sad how much talent goes undiscovered not only in music and sports, arts etc. Right now there is a musician that has never sung that could be the next phenom, or right now there is someone in the world is without doubt the fastest man in the world that has never stepped on to a track or ran a race.

Although Idol, as I have been told by most my friends, families and work colleagues, is gay and stupid, I applaud their philosophy of bringing undiscovered talent to the forefront.

Tell me your kidding you don't actually believe that..As the goof ball Simon said way back weeks and weeks ago, you could walk into any bar in America and see a rock cover band and there is Bo, holds true today as Bo never got any better. Even with the sad state of RocknRoll music today Bo will be a memory within two years, Carrie within that time frame too thank gawd. Grammys??..

I agree. Idol really sucks but somehow I can't stop watching it.

The only entertaining part of the Idol season is when they show the rejects audition. I'd rather watch the Malfetta twins or Rapping Nanny any day.

I think it was more that he knew that once you get into the top two- hell, even the top ten- the winner becomes somewhat irrelevant- you're already as famous as you need to be. Clay Aiken didn't win, but not only did he get a deal anyways, he's sold more records than any of the winners (I couldn't believe that when I heard it.)

Yeah, I guess it was silly of me to say she did not benefit at all from her Idol exposure. What I meant to say is, she has clearly distanced herself from her Idol origins, and is at a point in her career where she is no longer obligated to make any appearances on behalf of Idol. In last season's finale, both Kelly and Ruben made appearances. I thought it was interesting that on this year's finale, no former winners were to be found (just a whole bunch of also-rans in the crowd). And that was fine with me, as I thought the musical guests idea was far more entertaining.

I believe Simon said that about Constantine...not Bo...

the caveat was that I said that if Bo writes his own material, he will have a real shot...perhaps I was a little too enthusastic, but he has a great voice, look, and presence about him...the exposure he got was invaluable and will open many doors for him...maybe we should have Fred put this in the Terb time capsule with instructions to open in 5 years....

Interesting...Kelly has already played Massey Hall to pretty positive reviews and Clay is booked to play the Molson Ampitheatre this summer(not sure about that venue though for him)

The coolest part of last nights finale had to be when they brought out David Haselhoff, so he could meet Dirk.

The look on Dirk's face when he saw David Haselhoff last night was absolutely priceless.
