In 1965, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, sociologist working at the US Department of Labor, issued what came to be known as the Moynihan Report. The conclusion was as follows: The destruction of the Negro society will continue as long as the destruction of the Negro family is not stopped. What he referred to as destruction of the Negro family was 25% of black children born to single women. After the left and right threw arrows in either direction, the report was shelved and nothing was done.
If Moynihan, who later became a US Senator from New York, referred to 25% of black children born to single mothers in 1965 as a destruction, what word would describe 82% of black children born to single mothers today? Implosion is not even apt enough.
Racism is a problem that needs to be addressed. No question. But the most serious problem afflicting blacks today in the US, and Canada, is single parentage. Black leaders know this. Most black athletes, including the most prominent LeBron James, are victims of this phenomenon. Yet none mentions it. A black, who was president of the United States for eight years and a victim himself saved by his white grandparents, said nothing about this and did nothing. There is now a black vice presidential candidate abandoned by his black father but rescued by her middle class mom and she says nothing about this and will do nothing about it if her ticket wins.
Over 7000 blacks are murdered in the US annually by other blacks not because of racism but due to predominantly to implosion of the black family. The rampant shootings by blacks going on in the GTA is primarily due to absence of black fathers.
Black Lives Matter but Black Families Matter even more. Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, LeBron James will never say this. Shame.
