HI Everyone!

This is, perhaps, an odd post for this board but you guys are useful for so many other things that I figured wtf !

Anyway, I looking for recommendations on good alternative music clubs in the Toronto area and thought you might have different suggestions than the music geeks on other boards.

Thanks!

The Phoenix Concert Theatre (410 Sherbourne 416-323-1251) has Alternative Saturdays live to air by the Edge 102.1

Friday nights there's 102.1 The Edge Live to air at The Kingdom, the corner of Brant @ Plains Rd. East in Gburlington (the b is silent...hehehe) . They have a very young crowd (18 - 24 yr.olds) but it's great music and the girls are truly as good as they say in their commercials. Really.

Unfortunately, now that I'm in my early 30's I find there aren't many decent places to go for people my age...

PC.

Republik the new club on Richmond beside the Paramount Theatre plays Edge 102 type music on Friday nights.

Also you might want to check out The Docks on Friday night as well. Mark Holmes formerly of Platinum Blonde, now the owner of The Mod Club spins in one of the rooms with Todd from The Dean Blundell Show from Edge 102.

My pick though would be the Bovine Sex Club on Queen Street West.

Have fun!

Try Velvet Underground on Queen St. W near Bathurst. Assuming you're from Montreal, it's sorta like Madhatter's on de Maisonneuve meets the now-non-existant Angel's on St. Laurent and Prince Arthur.

For a casual atmosphere and a mainly college crowd (ie. They would play The Pixies, Sonic Youth, etc. back in my days) try The Dance Cave upstairs at Lee's Palace on Bloor St. just east of Bathurst.
