Mourinho still has to prove himself to be more then just a 2-year manager. It seems wherever he goes by the third year he's pissed off the entire league, and then bails for the next club

Very pleased with the Wigan-City shocker. Cup football at its best. Always worth watching.

The final bow

What a week it has been, with the biggest names in the world of football retiring.

This season has been exceptionally amazing, simply because Manchester United showed their true colours by winning the Barclays Premier League, taking it back to Old Trafford, has been absolutely fantastic.

I've had the chance to watch two Red Devils matches in the THEATRE OF DREAMS itself, one against Real Madrid and the second one against Swansea City(final home game of the season, crowning day). I'm not really an emotional person, but when I saw Sir Alex Ferguson for his last few words managing(27 years) in the Theatre of Dreams I had tears in my eyes. A lot of people would remember him taking over in 1986, he was often tipped as the worst manager in his first few seasons in-charge, but he has given football a new meaning since. He re-invented the team with a lot of bold decision, selling the best players, as he said 'NO ONE IS BIGGER THAN THE CLUB'. He brought the likes of Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Peter Schmeichel, Jaap Stam, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Edwin Van der Sar, Ruud van Nistelrooy amongst other great players. He gave the Class '92 a chance Paul Scholes, the Neville brothers Gary and Phil, Nicky Butt, David Beckham and Ryan Giggs (who's still tearing you apart), to which the press said 'YOU CAN'T WITH ANYTHING WITH THESE YOUNGS LADS', he proved them wrong years after years.

There are a lot of people who hated him(Fergie time, ranting at officials), but we all should agree that he has been the GREATEST manager in the history of world football.

SAF last speech at Old Trafford.

Then came the time when DAVID BECKHAM announced that he was retiring of football after 21years of wonderful 'Bend it like Beckham moment'. I still remember his early stage of playing as No.24, then in 1996 No.10, finally got the famous No.7 in 1997. He is the most decorated Englishman in football, with winning titles in 4 different countries, England, Spain, USA and finally France. We all remember the goal from a free-kick that shook the world against Greece in 2001.

This is seriously another time I had real tears in my eyes, when I was watching him being substituted in this final game. He was so emotional, we all could see his love for the game (of course the money comes with it).

Finally my respect to MICHAEL James OWEN, James Lee Duncan "JAMIE" CARRAGHER, DAVID Robert Joseph BECKHAM, PAUL SCHOLES and SIR Alexander Chapman 'ALEX" FERGUSON, who all retired this season. It is definitely the END OF AN ERA in the world of football.

late to comment but that was an awesome display by Atletico over their annoying, brash, obnoxious, richer cousins across town, nobody gave them a chance and they ended the "Special One's" tenure at Real on a sour note. I have been a long time admirer of the way they do things, they have nowhere near the riches to compete with the fascist and communist football sides (Real Madrid and Barca lol) but this season was great finishing in a Champions League spot, but surely will lose Falcao in the summer. On another side note, has Jose proven he is anything but a 2 season manager at best?

Walter Mazzarri has stepped down as coach of Napoli. In his eight years as coach his clubs have always been near the top of the Serie A table, I don't expect him to be unemployed for long.

The problem with him is he's too passionate for his own good. His resignation is probably due to burn out and he'll need a year off to cool his jets. When he coached Sampdoria they were giant killers, they were relegated the year after he left. If Vilanova is too ill to stay on as Barca coach, they can do significantly worse than to hire Mazzarri.

Congratulations to Bayern Munich and their quest for the German treble.

I thouroghly enjoyed the game, it was great futbol and was very impressed with the refereeing. Dortmund has nothing, nothing to be ashamed of. A great team.

Great way for Heynckes to retire. A great team that will only get better next year with Pep coaching them. Might be the first team to repeat the dance with Big Ears.

Glückwünsche!!

great game by both sides, now the question becomes is this a shifting of power towards the German league or a blimp on the map? I am not sure, but you have an extremely well run league that cements its power through the development of youth instead of the Man City oil **********s who run out and buy the flavour of the month player. Also with Pepe Guardiola coming in next year for Bayern, how on earth do you top a treble, one of the hardest feats to pull off in sports?

ManCity has already served notice that they are spending 150+ euros on players. Their top priority is Edinson Cavani, they are making a mistake. He's spent most of his professional career in Serie A and has la dolce vita in his blood. Moving to Manchester would be huge culture shock for him and he'll eventually want out. Look at Ibra and Verratti, they should be happy in Paris, but both miss the lifestyles they had in the boot.

A really enjoyable, memorable final. Two teams well matched, and both with an attacking mindset, nobody sat back and we were treated to end to end football. Also two incredible goal keeping performances for a final.

Dortmund will be back. They are the 11th richest club in the world, they use their funds wisely and they are very well coached and motivated.

I also think the BL is on the rise. There are some serious structural issues in Spain, which don't impact the big two or three, but you do need a league.

The acquisition season has also swung into high gear already. Barcelona have acquired Neymar from Santos, a real coup to my mind.

It looks like the highly sought after Falcao is going to Monaco for 60 million euros. Now this completely boggles the mind!! The whole rumour of going to Chelsea I can completely understand, highly rated league, CL team and you get to live in London with all its goodies. But other than the money why on earth would you move to a recently prompted side?
