The Separatists stole the voter database and made it public violating the privacy of every Albertan. Yet somehow, some people support these criminals and Agent Smith (well described as a Policy Magpie By Andrew Coyne) has not issued any firm denunciations.
This separatist scum are just MAGA maples in solidarity with the trucker convoy, the January 6 insurrectionists and obviously backed by Trump. Smith is a Prager University acolyte, a WEXIT proponent and a traitor to Canada.
The Canadian Military should be deployed to protect the Alberta oil patch from Smith and Trump well before the Alberta referendum this fall.

They won't hit 50% if the referendum happens

I look on pretty much everything the Right does in AB as a pressure tactic set in motion by Big US Oil to force environmental and tax concessions from Ottawa. That's why Dumb Danielle is propped up and why they keep both PeePee (aka Rock Hairy Hare) and "Insurance Office Boy" Scheer from being tossed into the garbage bin. Those individuals lick Big US Oil ass and are useful idiots.

Albertans are quick to forget that Canada wanted a West to East pipline, Ottawa and Trudeau supported it. The price was an oil discount for Canada and slower oil price reductions when prices fell. Alberta said FUCK OFF OIL WILL NEVER BE CHEAP AGAIN. So now there is no pipeline, Quebec has moved on to electricity and Alberta gives USA a $20B/year discount on oil. Thats Alberta for you. ALberta heritage fund is 32B Norway is 1.9 TRILLION...and Norway is pretty socialist BTW.

Danielle Smith said she's going to appeal

Alberta separation petition overturned as judge rules in favour of First Nations

A judge threw out an Alberta separatist petition Wednesday, ruling the province had a duty to consult with First Nations -- a decision quickly declared “anti-democratic” by Premier Danielle Smith.

Justice Shaina Leonard also said Alberta’s chief electoral officer should never have issued the referendum petition.

The premier promised there would be an appeal.

“This is a decision by one judge,” said Smith. “We think that this decision is incorrect in law and anti-democratic, and we will be appealing it as a result.”

Lawyers for several First Nations argued last month that Alberta’s referendum process and its use by separatists is unconstitutional, as there’s no requirement for Indigenous consultation. They also said separation would violate treaty rights.

Government lawyers defended the process and pushed for the separatist petition to play out.

Leonard sided with the First Nations.

“As a matter of logic and common sense, there can be no doubt that Alberta’s secession from Canada will have an impact on Treaties 7 and 8,” the judge wrote.

She said a bill the government passed in December amending the citizen-initiated referendum process “put in motion a series of required steps that engaged the duty to consult.”

“No consultation occurred. Alberta breached its duty to consult with the applicants,” Leonard said.

The legislation removed the requirement that proposed referendum questions be constitutional and the ability of the chief electoral officer to refer proposals to the courts for review.

It also allowed applicants to reapply.

When the separatist group Stay Free Alberta first applied last summer for a petition, its question was referred to a judge for review.

That judge, the day after the bill was tabled, ruled the group’s question was unconstitutional. The group reapplied, and their petition was issued in January.

Leonard said the separatists shouldn’t have been allowed to reapply, because the chief electoral officer denied their first proposal Dec. 8. The legislation came into force three days later.

“The first proposal was not pending when the amendments came into force. It had been rejected and had come to an end,” the judge said.

Allan Adam, chief of Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation celebrated the ruling. The First Nation, along with the Blackfoot Confederacy, representing the Siksika, Kainai and Piikani First Nations, launched the case.

I wonder how that appeal is going to work out

Anti-democratic in that some rednecks can steal a voter list, violate the privacy of millions of Albertans, fabricated 300K signatures, and then ignore the constitutional need to consult with First Nations.

FYI the fat cowboy already went south to secure a 500B line of credit from the US govt. No official deal was made but there was NO shutdown of the discussion by the Imperialists. So that almost guarantees that informal assurances were made. Deliver the oil and we will give you a 500B slush fund you can pillage and be rich. 500B is little to pay to control 13.3T of resources. Let there be no mistake, these people are working for the US govt and so is Danielle Smith.

Danielle Smith should be tried for treason . She is a MAGA operative, a past keynote speaker for the Prager Institute and a former WEXIT leader.

Not looking good for Maple MAGA. If they want to separate, they should just pack their bags and move to Montana.

its humerous because they never respond when you tell them they can just go live there
you hate it so much here just pack it up and go on to greener pastures my man but nope, they never do

I'm not sure either, but its apparently a big enough issue they didn't consult them so maybe they might be able to

Alberta separation can only happen with US military intervention, not by legal ballots by Alberta citizens nor by ignoring First Nations treaties.
Expect Trump and the Alberta WEXIT cabal of separtists including Smith and likely the failed Con leader PP to fabrIcate some cocamie excuses and unlawful justifications to declare Alberta a separate nation in the very near future.
