Alberta’s future in Canada depends on Carney’s greatest fear: Trump or Climate Change

As I said, I don't want them in the food supply. That includes any processed food(not that I buy much). And also restaurant food.

It's imo a national security issue. We can't trust them. They will break deal on a whim, harm us economically without thought, and once in attempt to gouge us when we have no choice.

Supply chains in Canada are stable, prices are stable, and the food is better. A few cents a pound is not worth our national interests, the destruction of family farms to conglomerates, and in the end allowing a foreign nation to have control in our food supply.

And there is nothing you can say to convince me at this point to allow Americans that.
Dairy and meat are well regulated. The US supply simply compliments the supplies we already have...we are not heavily reliant on them for it. Only way for Carney to turn our economy around is make a deal with Trump...Liberals may not like Trump and him running his mouth about Canada but let's face it...The US is our best option...better than China at least... Who else can we really make a deal with?

Honestly, the Bloc serves almost no purpose now. Their primary job is to preserve Quebec, but french speaking citizens continue to drop, they are pushed out the province's major city and are not really sufficient on their own.

It will be interesting to see how Carney will convince Alberta to give more money to Quebec. :ROFLMAO:
A lot of Quebecois also move north east Ontario where most are also french speaking...

then Canada will have called Trumps bluff and ask him if he is really in charge
"Do you want free trade or not ?"
'' Are you not the artist of the deal ?"
if not back the fuck up and honour our previous deal
'We have offered everything you asked for, now meet our demands"

Again, we can not replace the trade volume with the US

does the carton have a picture of $400 billion in missing trade ?

good for you
another example of someone who thinks he can project his experience onto 40 million of his countrymen.

do you have any idea how critical the US trade relationship is to Canada ?
likely 500,000 to a million jobs
We are a export oriented country and the US is our largest customer ...by far

if Ontario loses the auto sector, the Ont govt will lose billions in tax revenue
the Ont govt is swimming in debt, (the highest non-sovereign debt per capita ratio in the world or very close to it now )
such a loss would definitely mean the end of universal health care in Ontario

ponder that as you stare at your carton of Canadian milk , while munching on cereal made by Post or General Mills
I disagree we cannot replace the trade volume with the USA, but its a medium/long term endeavor. It would be problematic for the US to replace Canadian potash, nickel. aluminum and oil, amongst other things. And BTW the situation we are in perfectly illustrates how Canada has insufficient population. Trump would not be fucking with Canada so readily if there were `100m Canadians.

We can make deals with the EU, LATAM, Japan, Korea, ASEAN, trade more directly with Mexico. Yes the USA is the EASIEST option even with that twit. But even if we make a deal, the goal should be to diversify away from the USA. Allow cars that meet EU regs into our market especially EVs as an example.

We are already doing all of that... Sure diversify away but US will still br the whale it always has been...they are our Cash Cow...we don't need to compete with the US...we need to partner with them...fairly.

Exactomundo best post yet, enough with Happenin Johnny's Chicken Little routine. The USA has made Canada lazy, those days are gone. Aren't we trading with Mexico directly already? The price of avocados has dropped.

Richy I'd rather partner with Hannah's inner thighs.

we are not going to replace 400 billion worth of trade

diversify away to the best of your ability
call me when you get to 25 -50 billion , so I can remind you that you are still short 350 to 375 Billion
then we will look at the smaller margins and the higher costs of the incremental shipping

you should know you are on the wrong side when you are agreeing with nottyboi

Or if we had nuclear weapons instead of giving our radioactive metals away to the USA and others. Canada is the second largest producer of Uranium and the third largest producer of Cobalt in the world. By extension, where would LA be today without Canadian water bombers.

Anyone else notice that Trump's ass is fatter than Shaq's. Calling Dr. Dumbass.

Yup, joining the US is super popular right now.
Canada should be very worried.

He doesn't have to. He just has to keep things the way they are.

And oil prices are dropping. Things are about to get tighter out west.
the oil and gas sector can manage price volatility, it is inherent to the commodity based business
they can not withstand the Trudeau family / liberal party / Carney policies

i want Carney to act in the best interests of Canada & that does not include a net zero agenda
Canadian unity is at risk here
The best move for Canada is to take us away from the USA as much as humanly possible and more towards Europe. He seems to be moving in that direction.

There's more than 190 countries om Earth and "lucky" Canada gets stuck with that giant shit-pile known as the USA as neighbours.

Dealing with EU will be costly...like double on what we have to deal with the US...those tariffs can be reciprocal and can be mitigated...again, fighting US on something that is manageable and turn to EU is not the best option for Canadians... I'd rather Canada deal with Japan, SoKor, India and China than EU...if anything EU needs us more than we need them... Canada simply can not prosper the way it prospers with US as a partner...have faith on Mark Carney...I mean you voted for him...he is gonna make a deal with Trump and be happy with the results...

The EU has never issued threats against us. Fuck the USA and fuck Americans. There's more to life than money; have some dignity and self-respect.
