Agencies adverse to e-mail

Is it just me or do SP Agencies seem adverse to using e-mail?

I like to be descrete, so usually I book my appointments via e-mail initially to start and follow up later with a call when things have formalized or pass some new information along.

But of the 6 or 7 agencies I submitted a request to, only 1 or maybe 2 have responded.

Now mind you, I don't automatically start with 6 or 7. That list seems to grow when I don't get a response.

I read their websites and they say use one or the other, but it seems clear that the response is primarly by phone.

Anyone else found this?

Funny, I do most of my appointments by email. Check it from 2-4 times a day and get back to someone immediately.

After one or two exchanges I know if the gentleman is serious and we set up one telephone call prior to making arrangments. I find it straight forward and also the writing ability often gives one a glimpse into his ability to make it mutually beneficial.

Sometimes we can even converse quickly on MSN. It also is more discreet from the office than talking over the telephone. However, I am just an independent and not an agency, so thus, maybe the difference.

It is also an easy way to delete and block game players.

Are you using an IP provided e-mail address, or an anonymous provider, like hotmail or yahoo? That might be a factor.

I wonder if their's a relationship with time wasters? I mean, the % of guys who call and don't book - verses the % of guys who e-mail and don't book.

My personal assessment is that right now it is about 50/50. Half of the agencies and independents are comfortable using e-mail to set up the appointment etc. The other half just list it on their websites because they feel they should but make no real effort to check them regularly. The EE agencies in particular don't seem to want to do business over e-mail, usual clue is if each girl has a separate e-mail address, they won't be responding to you soon.
