If Donald Trump had pushed for 'vaccine passports' then 100% of Americans who are currently in favour of them, would be opposed to them.
And 100% of Americans who are currently opposed to them, would still be opposed to them.
You know this is true.

Just a yes or no, curious to see what most think.

Not a chance.

If trump had endorsed them, close to 100% of Americans would currently be vaccinated.

I disagree with this statement. I think that while many Americans don't trust Trump for all the obvious reasons the right-wingers on this board and elsewhere gloss over, this is something people would support. But I think it would probably have to go like it did here, where the vast majority of people got their shots and are getting increasingly annoyed with those who don't and continue to spread the disease.

Look, I think most of you know I think Trump is a piece of shit. He was only in politics for himself and his ego. For the very few things he did that were good, he did hundreds of stupid or terrible things. The worst (besides trying to destroy democracy) was pretending COVID wasn't serious and would just disappear. Because of his lies and the overall terrible way he handled things, there would rightfully be a lot of scepticism from people on anything he did virus related. I mean, the moron seriously asked about injecting bleach. His defenders say he was joking, but come on, we all know that isn't true, especially after all the other shit he did (like draw a new hurricane path so that it would hit Alabama.....).

Nonsense. The folks with common sense would follow the science and the medical professional's advice and still get jabbed. The main difference would be the gullible dumbasses would now get injected because Trump would be pushing the vaccines.

Hmm, let's see. If Trump had promoted vaccines, all the Republicans would have quickly got them. And all the Democrats, not being stupid, would have gotten them as well. With near 100% vaccination rate, we wouldn't need vaccine passports to sort out the compliant from the non-compliant.

Non-issue.

Absolutely 100% “No,” with a side of “are you slow?”

Zuby and anyone in his camp grossly overestimates the influence the former President has on the not-MAGA crowd, especially when it comes to anything he says about science, medicine, public health, ‘the left,’ the legal/justice system, his wealth, insurrection, Russia, the weather, his skills as a water drinker, forest management, his fatherly love for Ivanka, anything bigotry adjacent…

Or maybe I just haven’t read the deluge of reports of anti-Trump masses refusing to get vaccinated, because some Dotard now appears to be breaking with Tucker and Newsmax and pushing a pro-science agenda.

It would have depended entirely on how the passports were rolled out and implemented.

Everyone would have been suspicious of Trump and looked to see what other bullshit was involved.

In a world where that was happening though, the vaccination rate would have likely been much higher, though. With a very high vaccination rate, vaccine passports aren't very useful policy.

If Covid had not been politicized and remained a matter for health officials to handle the threats and leaders to listen to the experts then a vaccine passport would not be required since there would be a lot more vaccinated.
Example, Kenney listened to the business sector and not his own health officials who, at the time, said it was too early to lift restrictions, look at where they are now.

Yes, there might be a few people angry. Some of them would be the true Libertarian types that are angry now and there probably would be a few who had an anti-Trump reflex but most people who support vaccines do so because the science supports them, not because a specific politician says so.

Ironically, one of the reasons why covid vaccines came to the market so quickly was Trump's US $10 billion Operation Warp Speed, the only thing I can think of that he did right.

Trump's plan was just a gift to big pharma. They had enough motivation/profit to do it without him.
