This is truly disturbing and it appears this woman makes well enough money and just throws it away for her own pleasure and fun. I really just do not know what to say it is just sad.

Let the punishment fit the crime

I don't understand how the murder of a child is any different than that of an adult yet the punishment thought to be handed down will be very light.

I hope not......this women deserves to be thrown in jail for life for this haneous crime, And how does she deserve bail.

Her best bet is to do whatever it takes to keep her out of general population when she's imprisoned. Those women inmates will deify you for offing your hubby but partying til your baby dies will likely get her shivved faster than pedophilia.

Sometimes the courts in their wisdom create a schedule that separates a willing father from his child for up to two weeks but no more. This dad clearly shirked his responsibility as did the babysitter who ccould have should have called CAS.

I find it interesting that the thread title talks about a woman with no morals when, if you actually read the article, it appears that we are dealing with a rather disturbed individual whose life obviously spiraled out of control.

Something happened in the last few months of that poor little girl's life to cause her mother to stop paying bills and start neglecting her child. Whether it was severe depression, drugs, or a traumatic event - something went screwy. This is not about someone who just liked dancing more than caring for her child.

This does not excuse the young woman's horrific behaviour, nor should it exempt her from punishment. There's no need for the silly rhetoric though.

If she is convicted of the crime, she deserves nothing less than severe punishment. Dehydration and starvation would be very appropiate.

The Shake: I admire your faith in humanity, but I doubt this is anything more than a self-absorbed, pathetic excuse for a mother who decided that her own interests far outweighed her child's.

Sometimes people are just assholes because they're assholes, not because they were kicked off the cheerleading squad in high school. You're minimizing the severity of the crime and her responsibility by blaming some unknown event.

Obviously it is about more than a preference for Samba over Huggies, that said, there are numerous agencies as well as an ex-husband who could have been informed that she did not wish to (or could no longer) care for her child. She was sane enough to go to work, go to clubs etc -- so she had not tipped over into the land of delusion. She had numerous opportunies to solve her situation but chose not to.
