but if you click on the last sentence..Watch On Utube it shows...am i wrong?
You are absolutely correct sir. And my thoughts on the song are its fantastic. Sound quality is a bit poor, especially with the vocals. But that bass really hits and its got an infectious melody.

a buried treasure from deep down in the vault
My kind of stuff....sublime, a little melancholy...and soulful vocals

I do have to say that these days I hesitate to click on links that have even a slight chance of being a scam or computer virus.

Since I trust Ogi's posts, I clicked on the link to view the clips on YouTube, but I did get a little nervous before doing so.

Much better when the song clip's first frame shows up as the link...

The beginning of this song was sampled extensively in hip hop and r&b. Most notably of recent by MC Lyte and Kanye West

"Heaven and Hell Is on Earth" 20th Century Steel Band

"Make a Livin" MC Lyte

"Heaven & Hell" Kanye West

And an R&B one

"Jenny From the Block" Jennifer Lopez

This one got to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. A dancehall anthem from 2004.

This takes me back to my early clubbing days. I can still picture it 35 years later.

The remix is even better than the original. Definitely up there with my favorite JJ songs

I found out about this track and the contributions of Gil Scot Heron back in the late 1980's. As a teen I didn't truly understand the message. Even though they didn't sample GSH directly, Public Enemy helped in that regard. And I am proud to say that I own the very first hip hop record that sampled this song. None other than my man Schoolly D
