my Sister and i had a telephone convo this morning and it got around to reminiscing about 60,s music...she was more into the British invasion and i was into Soul..but she reminded me she enjoyed stuff by Otis Redding Sam&Dave and Joe Tex...i said whoa, Joe Tex.?.i loved his music
So i indulged myself with some JT...thought i would share
I'm somewhat familiar with Joe Tex was he a Stax recording artist? What age is your sister in relation to you?

not part of the Stax stable...my sister is a year and a half younger
Joe Tex's hits were mostly on Dial/Atlantic.

His early releases on the King label were not very successful.

And apparently he had a difficult time with James Brown, who was also on the King label.
