Jazzmatazz Vol. 1 by Guru was the quintessential jazz/hip hop fusion album. Even the non-singles like this one were heat. Courtney Pine on the sax. Simon "The Funky Ginger" Law on the keyboards. And Carleen Anderson with the background vocals
Great cut from the Brand New Heavies feat. N'Dea Davenport on lead vocals. Probably their 2nd best song after "Never Stop". A nice fusion of jazz and soul/r&b
"Back to Life" came out in 1989 one of the biggest tracks of my teenage years. Like massive. A game changer. This is the acapella version which hits a bit differently but so fine. Caron's vocals are sublime.

Loose Ends were another British soul band from the 80's and early 90's. I consider their Zagora LP to be one of the best r&b/soul albums of the 1980's.
"Slow Down"
i am an unabashed fan of the Blues and when i listen to Elmore James i get to feeling sublime.....to this tune i just closed my eyes and thought of some girls in my life that i truly loved and held in my arms and its started my day on the right foot
