Definitely one of the early disco greats. I believe "Rock Your Baby" by George McCrae (1974) was the first acknowledged disco record.

"Rock The Boat" by the Hues Corporation soon followed as a re-release in 1974. It hadn't gotten much airplay when it was first released in 1973, but when disco started to take off it was re-released and became a hit.
You're right about Rock Your Baby I mixed it up. To me though that doesn't ring disco, its a bit slower tempo. I love the song nonetheless.

"Funk You Up" by The Sequence

This was the first girl rap group circa 1979. One of the members was a teenage Angie Stone, who went by Angie B then. She eventually became a neo soul artist and scored some hits with "Wish I Didn't Miss You" and "More Than a Woman" featuring Calvin Richardson in the early 2000's.

I've likely posted this song before. This is Kenny Lattimore. One of my favorite r&b/soul songs from the 1990's. Produced by Dave "Jam" Hall. I miss this kinda music so much 😞

Kenny was married to Chante Moore for a few years. She's one of my favorite vocalists her vocal range is nuts. This is my favorite Chante Moore song

They did a duet album together which contained a bunch of cover songs ranging from Ashford & Simpson to Marvin Gaye & Tami Terrell. Most of the LP was produced by Daryl Simmons, who was a protege of Babyface and L.A. Reid. Here's the title track
