I don't think we've ever posted anything from this duo on here, I could be mistaken. This is a classic tune
Funny since I posted this one, I've heard it played on Soul Town at least two times.

OK this was a big pop tune from 1986. If I'm not mistaken a top ten hit.

Its link to black music is because it sampled the drum beat from this classic hip hop track

Big Mama by Roxanne Shante (1992)

She disses fellow female MC's Queen Latifah, Monie Love and MC Lyte.

Prince Paul did his thing with this De La Soul tune

The main samples used
Slave - Just a Touch of Love (bassline)

Bob Marley and the Wailers - Could You Be Loved

Bob James - Sign of the Times

Don't know much about this group, The Esquires, from Milwaukee, WI. But I do know I dig this joint

One of my absolute favorite 90's r&b remixes. Erick Sermon from EPMD did the production.

This is from The Five Heartbeats soundtrack. Released in 1991 but a throwback to the early 70's soul sound.

Another great R & B song, same title, different lyrics by George Thorogood recorded in 1984. Both totally different and both great songs.
George did a great cover of that song....i think Bo Diddley was the original artist
