I'm not a fan of the vocals but wow that is some serious guitaring. Like you said very clean and crisp sounding.I love this cover of Marvin's Gaye: what's going on.
His guitar has such a clean sound and his voice is great.

One could make the argument that this is Smokey's strongest track vocally. When he hits that note at 2:37 it sends shivers up my spine. I also dug Linda Ronstadt's cover of this oneSo many timeless great songs...
His singing seemed so effortless, but when I saw him live and up close I couldn't believe how much his neck muscles were involved in the power of his voice.
I have said it before. She was my all time favourite. Check out What's New.One could make the argument that this is Smokey's strongest track vocally. When he hits that note at 2:37 it sends shivers up my spine. I also dug Linda Ronstadt's cover of this one

What are your 5-8?
This turned out to be their highest charting song going to #2. Hadn't heard this one in a long time thanks for jogging my memory. Still I much prefer the old Bar-Kays of 60's and 70's.for my funk loving friend KDouglas
if there was a compilation of the 50 most sad songs this one would be on itSide 1 track 5 from what many would argue is the greatest Earth, Wind & Fire album, All n All (1977). Definitely a hidden gem in their discog.
What a beautiful composition, reminds me that we don't post enough Gladys Knight & the Pips on here.
