dont feel so bad X.....Steve is one of the best.....underrated and unappreciated
Steve was rated #39 in Rolling Stone's recent list of the 100 greatest rock, pop, blues and r&b guitarists of all time. Always tasteful, with perfect rhythm and timing. Never flashy.

I read an interview with him in which he said his greatest fear was flubbing a note in a live performance...

Now this is a Mandrill I can get with ;)

The opening has been sampled on so many hip hop records.

on this board i once described this song as 2 minutes of perfection and the 2 posts by trm got me to thinking about this song....featuring the lead by La La Brooks....and imo it still is 2 minutes of perfection
A brilliant epic song. I don't know if its perfection but it makes a good case to be. It got a rejuvenation of sorts when it appeared in the film Goodfellas.

The artists credited on the single were Bob B. Soxx and The Blue Jeans. As per his style, Phil Spector decided to use Darlene Love as the lead vocalist, uncredited of course, until much later...
