the Whispers were a good group...........................this song popped into my head...............smoother than peanut butter on toast
Very catchy tune. Love the drums and the ladies on background vocals sound sweeter than honey.

The piano break at 1:45 was brilliantly sampled by Kanye West for this Alicia Keys record

From Faith Evans debut album 'Faith'. My 2 favorite songs of hers. RIP to the producer of both these tracks, Chucky Thompson, who was a lead member of the Hit Men, a production squad assembled by Sean "Puffy" Combs.

I don't think this cat did anything else. But he hit gold with this joint from 2011. Anthony David feat Algebra '4Evermore'

I only recently (like 2 days ago) found out it was a remake of Enchantments song from 1977. Whaaat? 🤯

I'm just finding out about Enchantment now. A late 70's Detroit soul/r&b group that went under the radar. This song was their biggest hit. It went to #1 on the R&B charts

Sunshine was an impressive record too. It went to #3 on the R&B chart

Track #1 from supergroup LSG's debut album from 1997.

LSG was comprised of r&b singers Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill

I bumped the hell out of this album when it came out. This was my favorite record from the album. Amazing sample of Midnight Star's 'Curious'

For the record I'm not much of an Alicia Keys fan. She is talented and beautiful but for me more of her music is a miss than hit. The Diary of Alicia Keys is a very good album overall though.

Jimmie is black.
Noah though may as well have sang this with just the hat, boots, and gloves.
Jimmie should have sang this in his speedo for a matchy matchy.

Big Beasties hit from the 2004 album To The Five Boroughs. Killer entrance on Letterman's show. They stopped traffic.

Classic Beastie Boys appearance on Joan Rivers show. I actually have this on videotape somewhere. It's hilarious. They perform 'Fight For Your Right' from their debut album Licensed to Ill. After the performance she interviews them. She asks them "So where did you fellas meet?" quickly adding a retort "Juliard?" :ROFLMAO:

The Beastie Boys were instrumental in bringing urban music to the suburbs. Some of the purists didn't like that much but overall it had a positive effect on the music. The demand brought in $$ which brought in more talent and creativity. It created an explosion in hip hop. By 1988 the number of hip hop LP's released grew by double over 1987. Many aficionado's (myself included) regard 1988 to be the greatest year for hip hop. This is my ATF Beastie Boys track

Due to their song Angel of Death, Slayer was accused of being Anti - Semitic. That ended when Kerry King played guitar on this song.

Mr Bojangles died in 1949.

For the rest of her life, Shirley Temple never stopped singing his praises.
