That was very good.. never heard of them before.

The BeeGees made some very soulful songs in the 60s before the 70s disco era.

They originally wrote this classic song for Otis Redding in 1967 (the year he died) then later recorded it.

this post reminded me of the great Soul artist James Carr, who i,ve featured here a few times....his cover of this song.....James Carr is one of the greats...underappreciated imo

The pride of Hamilton, ON jackSOUL headed by Haydain Neale (RIP)

The pride of Winnipeg MB, blue eyed soul artist Remy Shand.

The pride of Toronto, ON and one of our most successful artists, Deborah Cox.

And also the pride of Toronto and repping the Malvern projects our best rapper of all time, the Maestro Fresh Wes. This is is most underrated track, some pretty hitting lyrics.

Ah, I remember the Crang Plaza so well where I as a teen saw Rompin Ronnie Hawkins singing FORTY DAYS. It began my love for R+R.

The pride of Winnipeg Manitoba in music is BURTON CUMMINGS formerly lead singer of the GUESS WHO accompanied by the great RANDY BACKMAN, later played solo for many years, saw him live in Ajax, my favourite song. These EYES. He had one terrific voice.

I agree. He had a great rock singing voice.

However, I knew Burt, and was sitting next to him one day back in the late 60's in Winnipeg at a vocalists concert. Burt wasn't on the program.

Another friend, Herschel Fox performed, with a more classical voice, and Burt said to me "I wish I could sing like that..."

Herschel ended up being a renowned Cantor at a Synagogue in Los Angeles.

Burt still has it, and I see his clips on TikTok from time to time, sitting at his electric piano at his home and performing his classic songs.

Randy Bachman is also often on TikTok, but mostly talking about the old days in the Guess Who and BTO, and his guitars. Very informative and entertaining...

One of Randy's guitar teachers was the great Lenny Breau, who also lived in Winnipeg for a while. Lenny was one of the best jazz guitarists ever, but a heroine addict who died too soon.

I agree. Burton is one of the greatest rock voices all time. I used the term loosely.

Two Beach Music faves. Good vocals. In the first song the instrumentation is very late '70's...
