I remember going to see this downtown at the Eaton Centre when I was 11 years old. A classic film about hip hop culture.

Grandmaster Flash' & the Furious Five "Freedom" was released in 1980. One year prior to their release of "The Message" which is widely regarded as the best hip hop song of all time

For me the King of Hip House was the DJ Fast Eddie. So many classic tunes like this

This instrumental has been sampled by hundreds of hip hop songs. Most notably the sound effect at 1:45 and the drum break beginning at 1:46.

I personally love the keyboards beginning at 1:55. Sampled by one of my favorite rappers MC Schoolly D on "B-Boy Rhyme & Riddle"
